Commissioning Technician III (Master Technician|System Specialist)

We're looking for highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Technician III | Master Technician to join our best in class team and play a critical role in bringing complex projects to life. In this position, you'll be responsible for managing field technicians during all stages of construction and installation, ensuring that all systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operate according to specifications and client requirements.
As a Commissioning Technician III at On.Energy, you will:
- Perform intermediate-level testing such as insulation resistance, continuity, and point-to-point verification.
- Act as field supervisor for teams of 2-12 technicians.
- Foster and maintain a culture of safety for all team members, overseeing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Lock out tag out (LOTO) program compliance, maintaining zero recordable injuries.
- Work autonomously to further project goals
- High level troubleshooting capabilities
- Quickly escalate issues to engineering if they cannot be fixed
- Assist in configuring and verifying network communications and control interfaces.
- Support initial system energization with guidance from senior technicians and engineers.
- Troubleshoot moderate issues in wiring, sensors, and control hardware.
- Provide hands-on training to junior and intermediate technicians.
- Interface with OEM field reps and relay findings to engineers.
- Excellent documentation habits and tracking of field modifications or discrepancies.
- Maintaining quality and tracking standards with junior members.
- Proficient in the safe use of standard hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, torque tools, etc.) for assembly, installation, and adjustment of equipment.
- Skilled in operating specialized electrical diagnostic tools, including but not limited to digital multimeters, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, and other measurement devices commonly used in battery energy storage systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years hands-on experience in electrical or control system commissioning.
- Working knowledge of industrial communications, low-voltage systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Preferred experience with Medium Voltage switching procedures.
- Associate degree or vocational/military training in Electrical or Electronics Technology.
- Safety certifications (OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, First Aid, CPR, AED)
