Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud / DevOps / Platform Engineer who operates with a high level of autonomy and technical leadership to design, build, and operate scalable, secure AWS environments.

This role is ideal for experienced engineers who not only have deep hands-on AWS expertise, but can also independently drive architecture decisions, lead implementations end-to-end, and proactively identify improvements across cloud infrastructure, networking, and automation.

You will partner with DevOps, Security, and Application teams while serving as a key technical owner for cloud platform reliability, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing optimization of AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Own AWS networking architecture and implementation, including:
    • VPC design, subnet strategy, and routing
    • Client VPN and site-to-site VPN
    • Internet Gateways, NAT Gateways
    • Security Groups and Network ACLs
    • VPC Peering, Transit Gateway, and PrivateLink
  • Architect and support hybrid and multi-account AWS environments at scale
  • Independently diagnose and resolve complex networking issues, including VPN, Direct Connect, and routing challenges
  • Drive CI/CD and infrastructure automation initiatives in collaboration with DevOps teams
  • Proactively monitor and optimize cloud environments for performance, cost, scalability, and availability
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures
  • Ensure adherence to AWS security best practices and compliance standards
  • Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and architectural diagrams

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–8+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or DevOps engineering
  • Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services, including:
    • EC2, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, Route 53
    • S3, RDS, CloudWatch
  • Advanced networking knowledge, including:
    • TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S
    • CIDR design, subnetting, and routing strategies
    • Firewalls, load balancing, and secure network design
  • Proven experience designing and managing Infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Strong Linux systems knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network issues
  • Experience operating in multi-account AWS environments (AWS Organizations, cross-account access)

Education (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field from an accredited university in LATAM (e.g., Argentina, Chile, México, or equivalent) is required
