Logistics Analyst

Houston, Texas, United States

ON.energy is building the power infrastructure that makes the AI era possible. As AI demand surges past what the grid and traditional data centers can support, ON.energy provides a new class of power technology proven at gigawatt scale and trusted by the world’s leading cloud and AI companies. Our systems are already deployed across 2.5 GW of hyper-scale campuses, validated by top U.S. national labs, and certified for grid-safe operation by major utilities. With real products in the field, we’re scaling faster than the grid can, transforming power from a bottleneck into a competitive advantage for the companies building the future.

The Logistics Analyst supports the logistics function by turning data into actionable intelligence. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this role owns the department's reporting infrastructure, freight spend analysis, and performance tracking across carriers, vendors, and projects. The Analyst is the connective tissue between raw logistics data and the decisions made by the Director, Coordinators, and cross-functional partners.

This is a highly analytical role with broad visibility across the logistics operation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in Excel and BI tools, curious about what the data is telling them, and disciplined about maintaining clean, reliable data systems. This role is well-suited for someone early in their supply chain or logistics career who wants to build deep operational knowledge while developing a strong analytical foundation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting & Data Management

  • Own and maintain logistics dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools across Smartsheet, Power BI, and Excel.
  • Build and update weekly, monthly, and project-level logistics performance reports for the Director and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ensure logistics data integrity — shipment records, freight costs, delivery dates, carrier performance — across all active projects.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized freight spend database, tracking actuals against budgeted logistics costs by project, vendor, and freight mode.

Freight Spend & Cost Analysis

  • Analyze freight invoices and carrier billing against contracted rates; flag discrepancies and support resolution with carriers.
  • Track cost-per-shipment and cost-per-project metrics; surface trends and variances to the Director of Logistics.
  • Support budget forecasting by modeling freight costs for upcoming project pipelines based on equipment types, origins, and delivery timelines.
  • Assist in evaluating carrier and forwarder quotes; build comparison models to support sourcing and routing decisions.

Carrier & Vendor Performance Tracking

  • Maintain scorecards for freight carriers, 3PL partners, and freight forwarders — tracking on-time delivery, damage rates, invoice accuracy, and responsiveness.
  • Compile data for quarterly business reviews with key logistics vendors; prepare supporting analysis and performance summaries for the Director.
  • Identify underperforming vendors based on data patterns and flag findings with supporting documentation.

Process & Continuous Improvement Support

  • Support the Director in identifying and documenting opportunities to improve logistics workflows, tools, and standards.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining logistics SOPs, templates, and onboarding materials for the Coordinator team.
  • Research logistics industry benchmarks, freight market conditions, and carrier capacity trends to inform departmental strategy.
  • Contribute to special projects, including system implementations, tool migrations, and cross-functional analytics initiatives.

Cross-Functional & Administrative Support

  • Coordinate with Finance on freight accruals, invoice coding, and cost allocation across projects.
  • Support the Coordinator team with documentation audits, shipment record reconciliation, and data cleanup as needed.
  • Assist with import/export documentation review — ensuring packing lists, commercial invoices, and compliance records are complete and accurately logged.
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests from Project Management, Procurement, and executive leadership.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1–4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling, and dashboard building are expected day-one skills.
  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Comfort working with large, multi-source datasets and synthesizing findings into clear summaries.
  • Detail-oriented with strong data hygiene habits — able to maintain accurate records across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator; able to present data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with freight operations concepts: LTL, FTL, FCL/LCL ocean freight, Incoterms, customs documentation, or carrier billing structures.
  • Prior exposure to ERP or SCM platforms (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Experience in an energy, electrical equipment, data center, or industrial project environment.
  • Exposure to freight audit and payment processes, or logistics cost accounting.
  • Interest in growing into a Logistics Coordinator or operations leadership track.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
