AI UPS Product Manager

Location: Houston, TX or Northern Virginia or Remote


Position Summary


The AI UPS Product Manager will have experience with product-based engineering experience to support the AI UPS electrical and controls design, hardware development activities, documentation generation, and technical compliance. This is a system-level product focused role that requires someone who can speak fluently about power electronics, BESS systems and controls; conduct market assessment and analysis; and interface with key stakeholders, including customers, core product engineers, finance, project engineering , service engineering, and commissioning teams. What You’ll Do

  • Drive the Product Development Process (PDP) by conducting research, gathering customer needs, defining product features and requirements to help drive the development and launch of products that align with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Conduct focused market research and competitor benchmarking to identify needs in the market, including required product capabilities, market trends, market size and market pricing.
  • Define, manage and communicate product requirements to all other stakeholders involved in the product development process.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, engineering, project management, supply chain, and marketing to drive the product development process, compile technical information packages, and provide technical support and product documentation.
  • Plan and execute the product launch strategy and develop the product messaging, positioning, and value proposition, in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze product pricing, costs, and margins to define the business strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support design review and validation activities.
  • Participate in design sprints and product commissioning efforts with the engineering teams.
  • Define and maintain the product roadmap and end-to-end strategy with the Director of Product and core product managers.
  • Lead continuous product improvement of the AI UPS and manage its lifecycle, from concepts generation to released product upgrades.
  • Monitor product performance as well as feedback from customers, engineering, commissioning, service, and sales to support design improvement.
  • Provide training to internal and/or external teams on product functionality.
  • Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry organizations to stay up to date on industry trends and developments.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics Engineering, or similar technical field.
  • 7+ years experience in product management, product engineering, or a closely related role involving project-based or industrial settings.
  • Proven system-level design experience of MW scale power electronics, BESS and related controls equipment.
  • Understanding of BESS systems integration with power electronics equipment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% for product FAT inspection and site commissioning witnessing.


Preferred Plus

  •  Experience with UPS/mission critical, industrial energy, data center, or utility-scale infrastructure applications.
  • Familiarity with stage-gate product development processes and structured PDP methodologies.
  • Background in technical sales or sales engineering, with direct customer-facing experience in tradeshows or consultative selling environments.
  • Exposure to cost/margin analysis, pricing strategy development, and product P&L ownership.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, or Marketing; MBA preferred.
