People Experience Leader

Houston, Texas, United States; Miami, Florida, United States

ON.energy is setting the standard for large load interconnection. ON’s patented AI UPS™ is a medium-voltage UPS that serves as a firewall, protecting the data center from the grid, and the grid from the data center. With multiple gigawatts currently under construction, we are enabling grid-safe data centers.

As ON.energy grows, the employee experience has to scale with it. The People Experience leader owns how people join, are recognized and leave the company, and turns People programs into a consistent, measurable experience across every location and team.

Role overview

You will lead People Experience at ON.energy: the programs, systems and rituals that shape every employee's journey at three key moments: onboarding, recognition and offboarding. You set the strategy and partner with People leadership, business leaders and managers to make the experience consistent, data-informed and human.

This is a hands-on leadership role.

What you'll do

Onboarding, recognition and offboarding

  • Own three parts of the employee journey: onboarding (including pre-boarding), recognition and offboarding. Partner with the teams that own the rest, such as talent acquisition, learning and HR business partners.
  • Design and run onboarding that gets new hires productive and connected within their first 90 days.
  • Run recognition programs that celebrate contributions and milestones and reinforce company values. Own offboarding, from exit interviews and checklists to alumni touchpoints, and give managers playbooks for each stage.

Engagement and listening

  • Run feedback loops for your programs: onboarding surveys, exit interviews and recognition pulse checks. Partner on company-wide engagement surveys.
  • Turn survey data into clear insights and action plans, and hold leaders accountable for follow-through.
  • Track onboarding, recognition and attrition metrics, and report on them to People and executive leadership.

Culture and communications

  • Shape company-wide rituals, events and internal communications that reinforce ON.energy's values.
  • Support culture across sites and remote or hybrid teams so every employee gets an equal experience.
  • Lead change communications for organizational updates, new programs and policy changes, in both English and Spanish.

People operations and systems

  • Partner with HR Operations and IT to keep HRIS, onboarding and survey tools reliable and easy to use.
  • Standardize processes, documentation and service levels for employee inquiries.
  • Ensure programs meet local labor and compliance requirements in every country where we operate.

Leadership and influence

  • Lead through influence: set priorities and coordinate contributors across People, IT and the business.
  • Manage the program budget and external vendors.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and Learning to deliver one joined-up experience.

What you bring

  • 8+ years in HR, People Operations, employee experience or a related field, including 3+ years leading programs or projects through influence.
  • Proven record designing and running onboarding, recognition or offboarding programs at a growing company.
  • Strong analytical skills: you can read survey and HR data, find the story and recommend action.
  • Experience with HRIS and survey platforms (for example Workday, BambooHR, Culture Amp or similar).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the judgment to handle sensitive topics.
  • Comfort partnering with executives, managers and employees at every level.
  • Working knowledge of employment practices across multiple countries or regions.
  • A bachelor's degree in HR, business, psychology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Required: full professional fluency in English and Spanish, written and spoken.
