About the Role
The System Administrator I – Deployments (SA1) is responsible for the configuration, deployment, and support of customer hardware, primarily laptops, from our Atlanta-based warehouse. This role supports the full lifecycle of device deployment—from setup and configuration in our lab to post-delivery follow-up with end users to ensure a seamless experience. The SA1 will also manage user setup in systems such as Active Directory, Intune, and other MDM platforms, and must have hands-on experience with Microsoft 365.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and prepare laptops and other devices for deployment to end users based on customer specifications.
- Work onsite in the Atlanta warehouse and lab environment alongside peers to manage hardware and maintain accurate asset tracking.
- Follow up with end users post-deployment to verify successful login, setup, and address any configuration or access issues.
- Perform user provisioning and administration in Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and other MDM platforms.
- Manage Microsoft 365 user licensing, assignments, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of deployment procedures, device configurations, and client-specific requirements.
- Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support during and after deployment, including software installations and basic troubleshooting.
- Log and manage support tickets in the internal IT ticketing system, following up to ensure timely resolution.
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or engineering teams as needed.
- Maintain adherence to internal IT policies, asset management practices, and data privacy standards.
- Continuously contribute to process improvements and documentation enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a technical support, help desk, or system administration role.
- Experience configuring and deploying Windows-based laptops and workstations.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, including user creation, group policy basics, and password resets.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and/or other MDM solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, including user management and licensing knowledge.
- Familiarity with imaging, device provisioning, and basic scripting is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, especially in end-user support scenarios.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume deployment environment.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Previous experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools and warehouse/lab environments.
- Basic understanding of security and compliance best practices for end-user devices.
- Familiarity with HaloPSA, ServiceNow, or similar ticketing systems.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- This is a full-time on-site position located in our Atlanta office and warehouse.
- Must be able to lift and move computer equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Regular use of computers, hand tools, and other equipment required for device setup and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support to clients on a recurring and ad-hoc basis during the deployment process.
- Create and maintain clear and concise deployment-related documentation.
- Perform helpdesk and system administration duties for a wide range of customers.
