The OneSix Director, Project Management is responsible for leading cross-functional, multi-project programs for our Clients, ensuring strategy, BI, data, engineering, AI, and machine learning solutions are delivered on-time and on-budget according to defined scope, timeline and cost parameters. They are also responsible for managing & mentoring a team of Project Managers of varying levels, ensuring their growth and development. 

  • The Director, Project Management is expected to roughly split time as follows:
    • 70%: Billable Delivery
      • Project management of 1 - 2 strategic engagements
      • Delivery oversight
      • Account management
    • 30%: Non-billable Delivery Operations
      • Team management
      • New business / estimation / scoping
      • Internal initiatives
      • Process development & governance

Billable Delivery

  • Directly manage complex digital projects or a single program, ensuring work is progressing successfully and profitably
  • Work closely with Delivery Leads to provide delivery oversight over OneSix’s projects, ensuring all engagements meet quality standards, client satisfaction and financial targets
  • Partner with Growth Team to provide account management over OneSix’s accounts, resulting in sustained and successful relationships

Non-billable Delivery Operations

  • Directly manage 4 - 5 members of the PMO, across varying levels from Project Manager to Sr. Program Manager, ensuring they are supported, engaged, and successful in their day to day work
  • Participate in growing the PMO team by recruiting & interviewing PM candidates, and onboarding new hires
  • Participate in business development efforts by developing project approaches and estimates, collaborating on proposals and SOWs, and presenting at pitches
  • Collaborate with the VP, Delivery & Operations on long-term vision & strategy of the PMO
  • Partner with Delivery Lead peers and OneSix Leadership team on internal initiatives related to business growth, delivery methodology, scoping and estimating, and the delivery model - all in support of driving increased efficiency and consistency at OneSix
  • Work with Delivery Lead peers to develop, rollout, facilitate, and govern all Delivery processes across the OneSix delivery team and PMO, ensuring process governance

Experience, Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a professional services environment (e.g., consulting firm, digital agency)
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale multi-functional software or technology implementation projects, leveraging agile or waterfall principles while adhering to budget, timeline, scope, and resource constraints.
  • Experience managing complex technology implementations that include the full spectrum of OneSix offerings (Data Strategy, BI, Data Engineering, AI, ML)
  • Expertise in Project Management principles, methods and techniques, including Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Experience working with global delivery teams (i.e. nearshore, offshore)
  • Exposure to ancillary components of Delivery oversight:
    • Resource management & capacity planning
    • Project financials
      • Fee structures
      • Revenue recognition
      • Managing project margins to meet profitability targets
  • People management experience, at varying levels
  • Experience developing and implementing Delivery processes
  • Experience crafting delivery approaches and estimates, creating proposals, and writing Statements of Work and Change Orders
  • Experience presenting project management processes and approaches in pitches
  • Ability to see and communicate the big picture across multiple projects, take complex issues and present them in a simple and easy to follow manner
  • Strong understanding of the digital project lifecycle and the role of the various team members
  • Excellent leadership, relationship management and influencing skills
  • Meticulous verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational and planning skills
