The Challenge
The Director of People Operations will lead the global people operations function, driving operational excellence, scalability, and automation across HR processes. Based in Madrid, Spain, this role will report to the Vice President of HR and will focus on transforming manual, high-touch HR processes into streamlined, automated workflows with employee self-service at the center. The ideal candidate will combine strong HR operations expertise with a forward-looking mindset, leveraging technology, metrics, and best practices to ensure OneTrust delivers a world-class employee experience.
Your Mission
- Lead the People Operations team to design, implement, and continuously improve HR processes globally.
- Partner with the HRIS team to deliver automation initiatives and optimize the use of Workday as the core HRIS platform.
- Oversee the execution of global employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, transfers, promotions, terminations), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Implement employee self-service solutions, driving adoption and satisfaction across the organization.
- Develop and monitor key efficiency and service delivery metrics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple geographies, including Spain and the EU.
- Balance the need for personalized, high-touch HR services with the transition toward scalable, automated solutions.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and other HR teams to deliver seamless and integrated HR support.
You Are
- 10+ years of progressive HR operations experience, including global exposure.
- Proven expertise with Workday HRIS, including implementing or enhancing modules to support automation.
- Experience delivering end-to-end automation of employee lifecycle processes in partnership with an HRIS team.
- Strong track record of developing and reporting on HR operational efficiency and service delivery metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to balance manual, high-touch HR delivery with transitioning to automation and self-service models.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing teams across multiple locations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law in Spain and the EU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading people operations in a high-growth technology or SaaS organization.
- Certified Workday Professional or other HRIS-related certifications.
- Experience with lean process improvement, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
- Fluency in English and Spanish; additional European languages a plus.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering global initiatives on time and within budget.
