Wealth Operations Manager

We’re seeking an experienced Wealth Operations Manager to join our mid-office team supporting our portfolio management business. In this role, you’ll ensure operations between our clients, enterprise customers, and custodians run smoothly and efficiently. This will include identifying opportunities for process improvements and application of industry best practices both internally with your team members, and externally with third parties including customer operations and custodian teams. This role will report to the Senior Director of Operations and can be performed mostly remotely but will benefit from in-person time in either Toronto or Calgary.

What you’ll be doing:

Custodian Connection (60%) 

  • Act as the primary intermediary between support teams, and OneVest’s customers and custodians
  • Lead day-to-day mid-office wealth system operations for OneVest’s registered entity, including reconciliation, ATON and transfer out management, and manual transactions
  • Drive business-level process improvements regarding how OneVest interacts with custodians at scale, and propose best practices to them for working with OneVest-enabled Customers
  • Maintain custodian playbooks outlining business processes, escalation paths and consolidating known documentation between custodians
  • Manage open client Level 2+ cases with custodians, ensuring timely response, action, and resolution
  • Ensure operations comply with day-to-day regulatory requirements as they relate to OneVest’s registered entity obligations
  • Manage money inflows and outflows, ensuring processes are working as expected and intervening if needed

B2B Customer Support (30%)

  • Act as an operational Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the OneVest platform; coaching and training Customers on how to best leverage and build operations
  • Contribute to operational-focused customer-facing documentation 
  • Collaborate with sales and relationship management teams to onboard new clients and ensure seamless integration.
  • Represent OneVest Management in operational support areas including managing support cases from triage, escalation, and resolution

Client Experience (10%)

  • Manage the Client Experience Specialist team in their day-to-day operations, coaching and mentoring the team to efficiently deliver exceptional experiences
  • Act as an escalation point for the Client Experience Specialist team, helping to triage and direct client-driven support issues
  • Monitor and analyze customer feedback to identify trends and areas for improvement

Who we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management and/or wealth tech with a functional understanding of the relationship between wealth management firms and custodians
  • Preferred candidates have experience with mid-office operations at a major Canadian investment dealer or wealth manager
  • Excellent communication skills - you keep a calm demeanor and level head through high-stakes and high-pressure situations
  • Proven ability to develop strategies and standard operating procedures for B2B customer success, account management, and/or customer enablement
  • You have an analytical mindset and can break down intricate and complex processes into actionable steps
  • Familiarity with investments, with an understanding of different account types and investment securities: you’ve invested personally and hold investment accounts.
  • Completion or progression towards relevant industry designations such as CFA, CAIA, or CSC

Compensation:

  • The salary band for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 CAD. Most candidates should expect compensation toward the mid-point of this band to start.
