We generate value for our shareholders through two segments: Investing and Asset Management.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a business development role, primarily responsible for establishing new relationships with investment advisors and portfolio managers across Canada. This role will be pivotal in building the Onex Private Wealth Solutions brand in Canada through sales activities, which will include cold email and phone outreach, 1x1 meetings, presentations, and representing Onex at industry conferences and events. In addition to sales activities, the successful candidate will work closely with the broader OPWS team to identify, and execute on, other activities that will support the overall growth of the business, including product development initiatives and marketing campaigns. This role will be based in Toronto.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead sales activities, with the objective of expanding Onex Private Wealth Solutions’ client base and driving sales with investment advisors and portfolio managers across Canada.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective clients through high quality interactions, including proactive and reactive calls, meetings (virtual and in-person) and follow ups.
  • Work with the OPWS team to identify and execute new marketing ideas, including branch presentations, regional events, webcasts and industry events.
  • Ability to understand and articulate Onex’ sophisticated suite of products, including strategy objectives, fund terms, investment process and positioning.
  • Take a consultative approach to client engagement in order to understand their business and identify Onex solutions to meet their needs.
  • Work closely with other departments, including project management, legal and investment teams, to execute on the firm, and teams’ objectives.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on all sales activities on the Onex CRM.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Relevant experience working with a Canadian wealth management or asset management firm.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian wealth management industry, across both IIROC dealers and Independent Portfolio Managers.
  • Deep interest in capital markets and alternative investments.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, with a proven ability to work as part of a team to meet objectives.
  • Ability to easily foster new relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Salesforce or equivalent CRM.
