JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for an analytical, hands-on lifecycle marketer to own email, SMS, and customer retention, with a particular focus on subscription growth and churn reduction. You’ll execute the strategy and work in Klaviyo, from creating content blocks and building campaigns to launching flows, refining segments, and analyzing results. Use customer behavior, cohort performance, and lifetime value insights to decide what to send, to whom, and when.

This role combines strategic ownership with end-to-end execution. You’re someone who enjoys being “in the weeds”, turning ideas into live campaigns, managing day-to-day production, and using results to shape your next move. This is an opportunity to own the full lifecycle marketing process and see the impact of your work on customer relationships and business growth.

This role is designed for someone with roughly 5 years of relevant experience who wants meaningful ownership while staying close to the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Email and SMS strategy and execution

  • Own the email and SMS calendar, balancing promotional campaigns with customer education, replenishment, subscription conversion, and retention messaging.
  • Personally build, QA, schedule, and launch campaigns and automated flows in Klaviyo.
  • Create, maintain, and manage reusable content blocks and templates; assemble and format messages for launch.
  • Build and refine customer segments using purchase behavior, subscription status, engagement, lifecycle stage, and cohort insights.
  • Develop and optimize journeys such as welcome, post-purchase, replenishment, subscription onboarding, cancellation prevention, and winback.
  • Run practical tests across messaging, offers, creative, timing, frequency, and audience selection, then apply what you learn.
  • Maintain strong execution standards across mobile rendering, links, personalization, deliverability, and consent practices.

Subscription Growth and Churn Reduction

  • Execute lifecycle marketing initiatives that convert one-time purchasers into subscribers and help existing subscribers stay engaged.
  • Identify which customers are most likely to benefit from subscription and develop relevant messages, offers, and conversion journeys.
  • Analyze subscription churn, cancellation patterns, and customer behavior to identify opportunities to improve retention.
  • Build and test onboarding, education, replenishment, save, and reactivation initiatives that address those opportunities.
  • Bring customer insights to product, brand, and customer-experience partners to help strengthen the overall subscriber experience.

   Lifecycle Strategy and Practical Analytics

  • Develop lifecycle and cohort strategies that reflect how different customers discover, buy, return, subscribe, and lapse.
  • Analyze cohort retention, repeat purchase, customer lifetime value (LTV), subscription conversion, and churn to prioritize the highest-impact work.
  • Own recurring lifecycle performance reporting, connecting campaign and flow results to broader retention and subscription outcomes.
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations, a prioritized testing plan, and hands-on execution.
  • Distinguish channel-attributed results from broader customer trends and use practical testing to assess what is working.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner directly with the Director of E-commerce and Retention on broader retention strategy, priorities, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with creative, product, customer experience, and acquisition partners as needed to keep lifecycle messaging accurate and relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 + years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, retention, or email/SMS marketing, ideally for CPG subscription business.
  • Strong, recent, hands-on Klaviyo experience: you can independently build campaigns and flows, manage content blocks, create segments, run tests, and report on performance.
  • Basic HTML/CSS email skills for template edits and troubleshooting.
  • Experience improving repeat purchase, subscription conversion, subscriber retention, or churn, with concrete examples of work you personally executed.
  • Practical analytical skills: you’re comfortable using spreadsheets and platform reporting to understand cohort, LTV, and churn data and turn those insights into marketing decisions.

Benefits
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Basic Life Insurance
  • Immediate 401(k) eligibility with company matching
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Paid holidays
  • Flexible workplace policy
  • $100/month flexible benefit stipend
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Fringe benefits include in-office meals, product credits and discounts, lifestyle spending account, family planning, online learning, fitness stipend, among many others
