WHAT YOU WILL DO

onX is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst with a passion for strategic marketing measurement and the ability to drive organizational transformation. As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our marketing analytics strategy while directly influencing executive decision-making. You will lead cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with senior leaders to align analytics capabilities with broader business goals. This role is expected to work strategically, developing analytic insights to prioritize resources and champion data-driven decision-making. The Business Intelligence Analyst must be passionate about working with data, driven to dive deep and strive to socialize business impacts to guide the broader organization.

The ideal candidate is adept at sourcing, developing, and employing datasets to explore opportunities for marketing optimization. They must have prior experience using various data analysis methods and tools, as well as a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will be passionate about discovering solutions hidden in large datasets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. This person will report to the Business Intelligence Manager.

As an onX Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, your day to day responsibilities would look like:

  • Marketing Framework Expertise: Partner in piloting marketing measurement frameworks using advanced methodologies such as incrementality testing, MMM, and attribution models. Assess and advise on marketing effectiveness by leveraging the multi-tiered framework for balanced perspective.
  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Analyze and interpret marketing data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Develop and maintain marketing dashboards and performance reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across marketing channels, including digital, email, social media, and content.
  • Campaign Performance Evaluation: Collaborate with marketing teams to evaluate the performance of campaigns, identifying what drives success and areas for improvement. Use A/B testing, segmentation, and other data-driven methods to optimize marketing efforts and improve future campaign performances. Provide insights on audience engagement, funnel conversion, and ROI to support decision-making.
  • Customer Insights and Segmentation: Develop and implement customer segmentation strategies based on data to support targeted marketing efforts. Analyze customer behavior and feedback to improve customer journey, satisfaction, and loyalty. Work with product and vertical teams to ensure alignment on customer insights. Develop frameworks to measure brand awareness, sentiment, and perception in both qualitative and quantitative terms, tracking shifts in brand equity over time and working with the team to inform long-term brand strategy.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple marketing analytics projects, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, set goals, and communicate progress and outcomes. Collaborate with our data engineering team to plan, build, and develop marketing data sets that solves business needs and analytics needs.
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape and lead the marketing measurement strategy across the organization, incorporating frameworks such as incrementality testing, MMM, and multi-touch attribution models. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, presenting insights and recommendations that guide high-level decision-making and resource allocation. Act as a champion for data-driven decision-making, advocating for investments in tools, talent, and processes to strengthen analytics capabilities. Collaborate closely with Executive, Product, and Marketing leadership to align data initiatives with company objectives and growth strategies.

LOCATION

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”. 

  • Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time this is a great option.
  • Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.  
    • Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA. 
  • Connection Hubs: onX’s Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
    • Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston, SC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; Spokane, WA; and Vermont.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with significant experience leading strategic initiatives and teams. Demonstrated success in driving measurable business outcomes through advanced analytics methodologies, including attribution modeling, MMM, and incrementality testing.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Data Science, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications in analytics tools is a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with marketing measurement frameworks for both endemic and non-endemic marketing.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in analytics tools such as Tableau, Excel, SQL, Python, or similar. Experience with A/B testing platforms and statistical modeling is a must.
  • Analytical skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills to translate complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Enthusiastic collaborator with Finance, Product Management, and Operation teams
  • Marketing Acumen: Experience working with multiple types of marketing data, such as MMP and SKAd Attribution data and models, GA4, Offline/Endemic Marketing Tactics, Market Research and Sentiment, and other organic and non-organic marketing data.
  • Project Management: Advanced organizational skills with the ability to manage large, complex projects and prioritize competing demands.
  • Statistical Knowledge: Understanding of statistical techniques for A/B testing, incrementality testing, regression analysis, and forecasting.

COMPENSATION

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $105,000 to $150,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
