WHAT YOU WILL DO
onX is seeking a Community Marketing Manager with a passion for building great relationships along with amazing outdoor pursuits. Your primary focus will be on growing our footprint in the human powered outdoor space through partner marketing, paid media and events. You will also have the opportunity to support various efforts across the team. We are small and nimble. You will be a part of the Backcountry Marketing team that focuses on driving growth of the onX Backcountry product. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a dynamic growing company focused on making an impact on the business, and outdoor community. This role will serve as a community liaison at onX and will report to the Marketing Leader, onX Backcountry.
As an onX Community Marketing Manager, your essential job duties and responsibilities will look like:
- Identify, maintain and foster key partnerships, that are authentic to our brand and align with onX objectives.
- Grow the value of our “Elite Benefits" program by adding key partner deals that help improve growth of our Elite product offering.
- Manage and iterate digital event program with a focus of driving more impressions and attendance.
- Execute in-person event strategy and manage appearances at trade shows and events to extend brand awareness and build relationships within the community.
- Find Paid Media placement that fit within the CPM guardrails, secure contracts, manage relationships, and gauge success for future placements.
- Write creative briefs, to bring campaigns to life. Work with Marketing stakeholders to strategize execution project and initiatives.
- Provide ROI tracking and analysis of all programs you own.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or University; or three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
- Two (2) years of marketing experience in the outdoor industry is required.
- Statistical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Tech-savvy, detail orientated and highly organized .
- Self-starter, naturally motivated, and comfortable with aggressive goals.
- Able to develop solutions as challenges arise.
- Deep desire to improve onX user experience before, during and after their trip.
- Comfortably and authentically speak the industry language all day every day.
- A shared passion for and ability to demonstrate onX’s Company Values.
- Permanent US work authorization is a condition of employment with onX.
- Ability to travel monthly for multiple days to industry events, corporate office or other onX strategic location, such as a Basecamp.
- Must be available for travel to a corporate office in Montana periodically.
ADDED BONUSES
Though not required, we would be thrilled to consider candidates with any of the following:
- Demonstrate experience in decision making based on data and ROI.
- Multi-platform analytics familiarity (ie: Amplitude, Google Analytics, Facebook, etc.).
- Knowledge of online marketing and a solid understanding of major marketing channels.
- Professional experience at a high growth consumer or SMB software, mobile application, or consumer internet company or consultancy.
- Passion for recreating in the outdoors.
WHERE YOU CAN WORK
onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”.
- Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time, this is a great option.
- Basecamps: onX’s Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
- Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following: Austin, TX; Denver, CO; Kalispell, MT; Minneapolis, MN; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.
- Connection Hubs: onX’s Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
- Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following: Boise, ID; Charleston, SC; Charlotte, NC; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Richmond, VA; Spokane, WA; the Bay Area of California, and Vermont.
HOW YOU’LL BE COMPENSATED
onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $91,000 to $107,000 upon hire. The pay range will vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and education among other factors as required in the job description. In addition, full-time onX employees are eligible for a grant of common share options with a vesting schedule and a potential annual bonus of 10% based on company performance.
