🙌 The Role
We are looking for a Cyber Operations Engineer to play a critical role in maintaining the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of data at Oodle Financial Services Limited (t/a Oodle Car Finance).
This role will be responsible for leading the day-to-day 1st line cyber security operations, working closely with third parties and technical teams. You will also lead the execution of remediation activities following the identification of vulnerabilities and security incidents, ensuring Oodle remains protected against evolving threats.
What you’ll be getting up to:
- Implement, Maintain and Optimise Security Tools. Deploy, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools in line with Oodle’s security objectives. Ensure ongoing effectiveness of implemented security tools and drive continuous improvement and automation.
- Security Monitoring and Alerting. Oversee and respond to key vulnerabilities, threats, and alerts from the security toolset. Drive the security monitoring strategy, collaborating with MSSPs and technical teams, to ensure appropriate scope of monitoring aligned to Oodle’s threats and compliance requirements.
- Lead Security Investigations & Incident Response. Take ownership of security incidents, coordinating with MSSPs and technical teams to ensure timely and effective resolution. Support incidents with threat hunting and root cause analysis.
- Vulnerability Management & Penetration Testing Oversight. Supervise vulnerability scanning and penetration testing activities, working with technical teams to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Threat Intelligence and Hunting. Manage appropriate threat intelligence feeds and proactively look for threats that are applicable to Oodle’s attack surface.
- Technical Security Advice. Provide technical security guidance to project and technical teams, to ensure technical security requirements are delivered throughout the software development lifecycle and / or onboarding SaaS solutions.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- A minimum of three years proven experience in a 1st line cyber security operations role.
- Evidence of successfully implementing 1st line cyber security technologies and processes.
- Experience with incident response methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of threat intelligence analysis and threat hunting techniques.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to fostering and embedding a strong cyber security risk culture.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Desirable:
- Certified Information Security qualification (e.g. CISSP, CISA, CISM, CompTIA SecurityX).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, M365, Sentinel and Defender products.
- Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
- Experience in handling cyber crisis and cyber incidents that have materialised into data breaches.
