🙌 The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Digital Workplace Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and expert support of our Microsoft-based workplace technologies,  integrations with other cloud technologies and automations (exploiting the use of AI capabilities).  This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll shape the future of our digital workplace, ensuring our people have secure, seamless access to the tools they need wherever they are.

You’ll work closely with InfoSec, Platform Engineering and business stakeholders to deliver secure modern workplace solutions to enhance productivity, and support our hybrid working model.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead deployment, optimisation, and support of Microsoft cloud services including Entra ID, InTune, Exchange Online, SharePoint and Teams
  • Provide expert support for Windows and macOS desktop environments
  • Design, implement, and maintain identity management integrations, including Single Sign-On (SSO) and System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM).
  • Design and maintain system-to-system integrations using standard protocols (OAuth, OIDC), and support custom SaaS API integrations where required.
  • Design and maintain backup and recovery strategies for workplace services and endpoints
  • Identify, lead and execute opportunities for automation and AI capabilities within the Digital Workplace team and the services it provides.
  • Support and maintain office network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networking, VPN, and firewall configurations
  • Lead on hardware and software asset management, including provisioning, patching, compliance monitoring, and endpoint configuration
  • Collaborate with the service desk to improve and automate workflows, tooling, and knowledge management

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • 4+ years’ experience in Modern Workplace engineering roles
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft cloud services (Entra, M365, Intune, Autopilot, Defender product suite), including experience with conditional access policies and automation using PowerShell or Graph API.
  • Proven experience with identity and access integrations including SSO, SCIM provisioning (Enterprise Apps), and API-based system integrations
  • A curiosity and experience of exploiting the opportunities of automation and modern artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of solutions that support identity access management
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, VPN technologies, and firewall configurations
  • Demonstrable experience with cloud backup and recovery solutions
  • Strong experience in incident and problem management, with a focus on root cause analysis and service improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A passion for continuous learning, proactive problem-solving, and providing technical leadership across teams

Desirable:

  • Microsoft certifications: MS-102, SC-100, SC-300, AZ-104, AZ-140, AZ-500
  • Familiarity with applications and tools like JAMF, Jira Confluence, PowerAutomate, Azure Logic Apps, AWS Lambda, AI product suites such as Anthropic and MS Copilot.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
