Community Events Marketing Intern

New York, NY

Open Fertility is committed to making exceptional fertility care accessible to more people than ever. From egg freezing to IVF, we simplify and streamline treatments so patients can pursue their reproductive goals with confidence. We’re looking for passionate, driven individuals who want to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives. As part of our rapidly growing team, you’ll help innovate fertility care and transform the patient experience. Our clinics are currently open in Roseville, CA and Astoria, NY, with Denver, CO coming soon.

Our Core Values:

  • Open Possibilities: Helping patients achieve their reproductive goals.

  • Open Access: Making high-quality fertility care available to those paying out of pocket.

  • Open Arms: Welcoming every patient with compassion and understanding.

Role Summary

Open Fertility exists to make high-quality fertility care accessible to more people. For many patients, cost is the biggest barrier to building a family: IVF and egg freezing are frequently out of reach, and many people are left with few insurance options and limited information about price. Open Fertility removes those barriers with transparent, all-in pricing and a streamlined care model designed around what patients truly need to meet their goals. We serve people who might otherwise delay, forego, or be priced out of treatment altogether.

Open Fertility is powered by Spring Fertility, one of the country’s most respected fertility practices. Our patients benefit from Spring’s clinical standards, laboratory expertise, and protocols. Open delivers that care through a leaner, more focused experience led by a dedicated team of providers. The result is care that is affordable without being a compromise: the same commitment to quality and outcomes, at a price more people can reach.

We are seeking a Community Events Marketing Intern to bring that mission to Astoria and the surrounding neighborhoods. Our in-person community events have consistently produced some of our most engaged leads, because they meet people where they are and answer the questions that keep them from taking the first step. This role exists to run more of those events so we can extend Open’s impact.

This is a hands-on role for a student in public health, women’s health, or a related field who wants real ownership and responsibility. You will learn about our patient population and conceive, plan, promote, and host community education-focused events; build local partnerships; and make sure every attendee who wants to learn more is connected to our care team. You will work directly with the growth marketing team, SVP of Marketing, and our Astoria team.

Essential Functions

Event Strategy & Execution

  • Conceive and plan a recurring calendar of community events (target 1-2 per month), such as fertility education nights, egg-freezing info sessions, and partner-hosted workshops
  • Own end-to-end logistics: venue sourcing, run-of-show, speaker coordination with Open Fertility providers, materials, RSVPs, setup, and on-site hosting
  • Gather attendee feedback and refine event strategy – formats, topics, timing, and channels based on what drives attendance and follow-up

Community Promotion & Local Partnerships

  • Build relationships with local organizations in Astoria, Long Island City, and greater Queens, including OB/GYN and primary care practices, wellness studios, community and cultural organizations, and local employers
  • Coordinate with our growth marketing team to promote events through Open Fertility social channels, event platforms, email, community boards, flyers, and partner networks
  • Represent Open Fertility at relevant community fairs, health events, and neighborhood gatherings

Content & Patient Education

  • Turn events into content: recaps, photos, short-form video, and FAQs that support Open Fertility’s social presence and local search content
  • Help translate common attendee questions into clear, accessible patient-education materials, reviewed by clinical and marketing leadership

Requirements

  • Highly organized self-starter who can own a project from idea to execution with limited supervision
  • Strong written communication skills and working familiarity with social media and basic design tools (e.g., Canva)
  • Desire to learn and leverage the leading AI tools (e.g., Claude and ChatGPT)
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and simple tracking to report on event results
  • Availability for some evening and weekend events; based in or able to commute reliably to Astoria
  • Comfortable speaking to groups, hosting events, and engaging strangers warmly and professionally
  • Genuine interest in reproductive health, fertility access, and community health education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in event planning, community outreach, health promotion, or campus organizing
  • Existing connections to communities, organizations, or networks in Queens
  • Fluency in Spanish, a language widely spoken among our Astoria patient population
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) or event platforms (e.g., Eventbrite)
