We are seeking an experienced and visionary Staff Engineer to join our team and drive technical excellence across the organization. As a Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping our technical strategy, mentoring other engineers, and solving complex architectural challenges.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical vision and leadership across multiple teams and projects. Drive architectural decisions that align with business goals and scalability requirements.
- System Design: Design and architect scalable, robust, and efficient systems that can handle high-volume FX transactions and complex financial operations.
- Innovation: Stay at the forefront of technology trends in fintech, distributed systems, and cloud computing. Propose and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineering managers, and other stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet business needs.
- Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship to engineers across all levels. Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning.
- Code Quality: Set and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and security. Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Technical Strategy: Contribute to the long-term technical strategy of the company. Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
- Problem Solving: Tackle the most complex technical challenges in the organization. Be the go-to person for difficult architectural and engineering problems.
- Best Practices: Establish and promote engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead technical role.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies (preferably AWS and CloudFlare).
- Strong knowledge of financial systems, payment processing, or forex trading platforms.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, TypeScript, and Go.
- Experience with high-performance, scalable systems handling large transaction volumes.
- Strong understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL.
- Expertise in API design and development, particularly RESTful and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing them in financial systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex issues into manageable components.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Track record of mentoring and growing engineering talent.
