We are seeking a talented and experienced Finance Controller to join our fast-growing finance and operations team. You will work closely with our operations and executive teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. This role is crucial for maintaining strong internal controls and driving strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for optimizing our financial processes and providing data-driven insights to support key business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, with international accounting standards.  
  • Financial Controls: Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage tax planning and compliance, including federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Audit Management: Coordinate and manage external audits.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Financial Systems: Implement and maintain financial systems and software.
  • Fundraising Support: Participate in fundraising activities, including preparation of financial materials for investors.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the finance team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of financial management experience, including experience in the fintech industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial software and systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Experience in crypto industry is a plus
  • Experience in startups is plus
