Executive Assistant to CTO
About OpenFX
OpenFX is building next-generation cross-border payment infrastructure for institutions. We process billions in monthly payment volume across five jurisdictions and we're scaling fast. We've raised over $170M in venture capital, hold money transmission licenses in the US, and are actively pursuing regulatory authorizations in the EU, UK, UAE, Brazil, and beyond. Our team is ~100 people today across Bangalore, Amsterdam, London, Miami, and Dubai, and we expect to roughly double this year.
Our CTO leads the engineering and product organization, which is our largest team and is primarily based in Bangalore. As we scale our platform across new jurisdictions, payment rails, and product capabilities, the complexity of coordinating across engineering, product, infrastructure, and security is growing rapidly. We need an exceptional EA to be a force multiplier for the CTO.
The Role
We're hiring an Executive Assistant to support our CTO. This is not an entry-level EA role or an office management position. We are looking for someone with 8+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, with direct experience supporting C-suite or senior engineering/technology leaders at high-growth startups or fast-scaling technology companies. You should understand the rhythms of an engineering organization and be comfortable operating in a technical environment.
You would be based in Bangalore and report to the COO. You will be the CTO's primary point of operational support: managing his calendar, coordinating across engineering leads, preparing materials for technical reviews and planning sessions, tracking deliverables, and ensuring the operational machinery of the engineering organization runs smoothly.
The right person for this role has supported senior technology leaders at companies that were growing fast — where sprint cycles, technical roadmaps, and cross-functional dependencies are part of the daily landscape. If your experience is primarily at large, stable corporations or in non-technical environments, this will feel very different.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the CTO's calendar across global time zones, proactively resolving conflicts and ensuring time allocation aligns to engineering and product priorities.
- Coordinate across engineering leads, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the CTO has the right context for every meeting.
- Prepare agendas, pre-reads, and briefing materials for technical reviews, architecture discussions, planning sessions, and leadership meetings.
- Track and follow up on action items from engineering leadership meetings, sprint reviews, and cross-functional syncs.
- Coordinate logistics for engineering offsites, team events, and technical recruiting events.
- Manage complex international travel logistics when required.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information — including hiring plans, compensation data, and organizational changes — with the highest level of discretion.
- Serve as a liaison between the CTO and internal teams, external partners, and recruiting candidates.
What We Are Looking For
Must-haves:
- 8+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant, with direct experience supporting CTO, VP of Engineering, or other senior technology leaders.
- Prior experience at high-growth startups or fast-scaling technology companies is required. You need to have operated in environments where engineering organizations are growing rapidly and priorities evolve quickly.
- Comfort operating in a technical environment. You don't need to write code, but you should understand the basics of how engineering teams work — sprints, roadmaps, releases, and cross-team dependencies.
- Expert-level calendar and time management skills across multiple global time zones.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- High discretion and mature judgment in handling confidential information.
- Ability to operate independently with minimal direction in a fast-moving environment.
What helps you stand out:
- Experience supporting a CTO or VP of Engineering at a fintech, payments, or infrastructure company.
- Experience in a globally distributed engineering organization.
- Familiarity with tools like Notion, Slack, Jira/Linear, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
- Experience coordinating technical recruiting events or engineering offsites.
- Prior experience in a company that scaled its engineering team from under 50 to over 100 engineers.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package benchmarked to your location.
- Equity in a rapidly growing company.
- Opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup at the forefront of fintech innovation.
- Opportunity to make a significant impact on global financial infrastructure.
- Collaborative work culture with emphasis on personal and professional growth.
Compensation
Competitive base salary benchmarked to Bangalore market rates, plus equity. We'll share specific ranges during the process.
