Meet your Future Neighbors
As a Software Engineer 4 with Nextdoor, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) (multiple positions available) you’ll:
- Work across multiple phases of software development life cycle to develop, code, test and document large, complex software requirements for applications.
- Design, deploy, and optimize ad-serving solutions to meet Company’s revenue goals.
- End-to-end ownership of projects, from front-end user interfaces to backend connections.
- Create a variety of advertising forms, analyzing and ingesting ad data, and putting monitoring events in place to precisely analyze and report ad success.
- Manage complicated data pipelines, making sure error monitoring is in place, and build tracking schemas in order to handle video adverts in a highly dispersed system.
- Create data pipelines that analyze, consolidate, and validate raw data so that it is easily available for reporting.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, including onboarding and coaching, and provide thorough code reviews to support their development.
- Maintain system health, the role also calls for a proactive approach to problem-solving, which includes finding bugs, improving the quality of the code, and developing observability dashboards.
What You’ll Bring to The House
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field.
- Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered, as a Software/Full Stack Engineer, or closely related position.
- Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in the fields above. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
- Demonstrated experience must include: Utilizing software development processes at all levels of software delivery lifecycle (requirements gathering, documentation, design, development, code review, testing and production support); Developing and maintaining front-end and back-end features of ad-serving platforms; Designing and implementing Ad-Tracking and Metrics Systems; Creating and monitoring data pipelines to validate and process tracking data for reporting; Conducting SQL-based data investigations to resolve discrepancies in tracking metrics and analyzing ad performance funnels; Designing backend architecture for complex ad-serving systems, ensuring scalability and flexibility in ad formats and creative management in newsfeeds and other placements; Creating and maintaining documentation for various ad system features, tracking schemas, and mentoring practices; and Designing and implementing and monitoring error tracking tools for adserving systems to quickly identify and resolve issues to maintain optimal performance and minimize revenue impact.

The starting salary for this role is expected to be: $206,315 - $240,900/year.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
