Meet Your Future Neighbors
At Nextdoor, we’re reimagining how Quality Assurance functions in an AI-first environment. This role is designed for a proactive, hands-on QA Lead who collaborates deeply with engineers, champions product quality end-to-end, and consistently seeks to leverage automation and agent-based support where practical. You’ll own the QA domain—not just managing bugs but actively coaching, upskilling, and partnering with the team to embed scalable, repeatable test practices.
The Impact You’ll Make
- You’re not managing a large team; you’re driving results, collaborating deeply, and maximizing both leverage and impact in a lean, AI-driven organization
- Drive continuous improvement in test strategy, planning, and execution for major releases and features
- Pair with engineers to uplevel quality awareness, acting as both doer and coach (test champion for the team)
- Use AI-powered QA tools, including Spurtest, to automate integration tests of key customer journeys
- Oversee all bugs—taking ownership of the process, prioritization, and resolution, ensuring that issues don’t slip through the cracks
- Facilitate cross-functional communication as needed (Engineers, Product Managers, Vendors), ensuring QA priorities are visible and aligned
- Drive improvements in release status, reliability, and stakeholder updates—leveraging AI/automation to streamline notifications and reporting
- Expect to work flexibly across systems and roles, including vendor management and pairing with external blackbox testers as needed
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- Proven experience in hands-on QA engineering, ideally as a lead or owner of major product areas
- Demonstrates a bias for ownership and action—comfortable driving change in a first principles approach in the rapidly evolving AI landscape
- Familiarity or comfort with QA automation tools and modern workflows (Jira, CI/CD)
- Ability to coach, train, and partner with engineers—focused not just on execution but on elevating collective quality culture
- Strong problem-solving skills; thrives in ambiguous, unstructured environments
- Experience with pilot projects and openness to experiment iteratively with AI-augmented QA practices
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
