Technical Engagement Marketing Manager

The Position:
We are seeking a highly organized, technically minded self-starter to join our Global Engagement team as a Technical Engagement Marketing Manager. This role focuses on implementing and executing lifecycle and automated email marketing strategies across international markets, using an array of email marketing tools.
The ideal candidate is both technically capable and creatively attuned—able to build responsive, dynamic emails, collaborate closely with brand design, product, analytics, and engineering teams. Staying on top of cutting edge email marketing best practices and a 'make-it-work' mentality are key to success. Responsibilities:

Plan, build, and execute email marketing campaigns and automation workflows across the customer journey (acquisition, onboarding, retention, re-engagement)

Develop dynamic and personalised email templates using HTML/CSS and scripting logic (e.g., Liquid, AMPscript)

Build and manage data tables and extensions to support campaign targeting, personalisation, and reporting, ensuring data structure scalability and accuracy

Architect and build automated, relevant life-cycle campaigns and event-based triggers in our ESP (MessageGears)

Write and optimize SQL queries to extract performance insights from marketing and customer data
-
Serve as the technical subject matter expert on MessageGears—driving improvements in campaign performance, platform capabilities, and integration with internal systems

Use email-automation, dynamic content, data extensions and content libraries to help the team build and send relevant campaigns more efficiently

Work closely with our designers to build responsive emails for our customer journeys

Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, email content, and send times to continuously optimise performance

Analyse campaign performance metrics (open rate, CTR, conversion, etc.) and translate insights into actionable recommendations

Maintain a centralized Google Sheets-based campaign calendar, including forecasting, scheduling, and audience size prediction, to support planning and stakeholder visibility across teams

Be on top of email marketing best-practices and industry trends, bring fresh and innovative ideas to the team

Build and maintain a rapport with cross-functional teams including data analytics team, data science, product and tech teams, brand design and the local marketing teams

Create landing pages for our email campaigns

Mentor junior team members and champion operational excellence in campaign execution, QA, testing, and documentation
Please apply if:

5-7 years of strong technical experience with ESPs, relational tables and dynamic content (MessageGears a plus, but not required)

Significant knowledge and experience with automating email campaigns, triggered campaigns and drip streams with an ESP Platform

Knowledge with SQL, HTML and CSS, including responsive design (NET, XML, JSON, JQuery, PHP or AMPScript a plus, but not required)

BSc/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Programming, or related field; or equivalent experience with demonstrated proficiency is an asset

Ability to fix bugs and troubleshoot technical issues

Proficient knowledge in email marketing deliverability best practices

Experience testing and troubleshooting in multiple browsers or email clients with a strong sense of web design and user experience fundamentals

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Proven aptitude for creative problem solving with a strong attention to detail

Self-motivating and capable of handling multiple projects at the same time with minimal oversight
