Specialist, Marketing Automation and Email Execution

Role Summary
OpenTable is seeking a skilled Marketing Automation and Email Execution Specialist to manage and execute our B2B email marketing operations across Marketo, SendGrid, and Groove. This role is a hybrid of hands-on execution and strategic process optimization, focusing on streamlining manual steps through automation and innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will build, schedule, and deploy email campaigns, troubleshoot technical issues, and introduce scalable automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Email Execution and Technical Operations (Primary Focus)
- Build, QA, and deploy B2B email campaigns in Marketo, ensuring flawless execution and adherence to brand, compliance, and deliverability standards.
- Manage audience lists, tokens, and dynamic content to personalize communications at scale.
- Support additional campaign sends and workflows in SendGrid and Groove as needed.
- Write and edit HTML/CSS for responsive email templates as needed, ensuring compatibility with major email clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to email deliverability, automation flows, and data synchronization with CRM systems.
Process Optimization and Automation
- Conduct audits of current B2B email build and QA processes to identify inefficiencies and manual steps.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation within Marketo (e.g., reusable templates, snippets, smart campaigns).
- Develop clear process documentation and checklists to improve consistency, reduce errors, and train the internal marketing team on new automated systems.
- Help identify opportunities to streamline manual processes with automation.
Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
- Track and share basic performance metrics (e.g., delivery, open, and click rates).
- Summarize learnings and insights for internal stakeholders and support ad hoc reporting requests.
- Assist with reporting and internal updates of performance with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in marketing operations or a hands-on Marketo specialist role, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Proven experience automating complex processes and building scalable campaign frameworks in Marketo.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS for email development and a solid understanding of email design best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- A self-starter who can work independently and drive a project from initial concept to completion.
- Marketo Certified Expert (MCE) is a strong plus, or equivalent deep hands-on experience in a similar role.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this Canada located role is $70,000 - 80,000 CAD.

This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.
