Senior Regional People Partner – Contract (5 Months)

Hospitality is all about taking care of others, and it defines our culture. As part of the People & Culture Team, you will support the delivery of the People Team’s key objectives and support the aims and values of Kayak / OpenTable. This is a regional role, owning Mexico, Colombia, and other LATAM countries with employee representation, and requires a sound understanding of local legislation and employment practices.

This is a 5-month contract role supporting our Regional People team, providing maternity leave coverage. The anticipated start date is the end of March 2026, with the assignment expected to conclude in August 2026.

In this role you will:  

  • Work as a regional strategic partner to our OpenTable teams, of approximately 125+ employees located within Mexico City and other employee-based locations within the LATAM market. 
  • Be the first point of call for key managers in your region.
  • Build the knowledge and understanding of regional legislation, ensuring advice and support are built on a foundation and understanding of legal risk.
  • Develop effective relationships with the business to promote good employee relations and embed HR processes, building credibility as a trusted expert on HR matters.
  • Lead on the provision of high-quality and timely advice to managers on a range of often complex HR Employee Relations issues, enabling managers to make informed decisions and enhance employee performance.
  • Ensure that all policies are regularly reviewed and legislative changes are sent through to the HR Operations team in a timely manner.
  • Partner closely with P&C Business Partners on global strategy and execution.
  • Work and partner with HR Operations to ensure regional compliance, local legislation, and a high HR service delivery.
  • In partnership with the P&C Programs team, participate in cyclical HR processes including engagement survey, performance management, and merit cycle processes for departments.
  • Work with HR Services and Payroll team to ensure accountability for benefits, payroll, HR administration, and vendor requests for the region/country.
  • Assist / Manage short and long-term sick leave.
  • Manage and provide 24/7 customer support for a high volume of employee relations (ER) and performance actions.
  • Maintain a required on-site HR presence to conduct in-person termination negotiations, conflict resolution, and employee relations activities.
  • Navigate a complex legal environment, ensuring compliance with Mexico's pro-worker legal framework, including obtaining in-person "wet signatures" for all terminations.

Requirements 

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Human Resources professional with progressively growing responsibilities.
  • Possess a sound sense of ownership and accountability, and an ability to work in the grey – not everything is defined, so we are looking for someone with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
  • A client-service bias, meeting and anticipating client needs.
  • Strong PC skills with excellent working knowledge of Excel, HR systems (Workday) to run HR-connected reports, and G-suite.
  • (Advantageous) HR Experience in a Global Matrix organization.
  • Experience supporting a tech organization is preferred.
  • International experience.
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficient in Spanish and English (written and oral).
  • Must be based in the Mexico City area, within reasonable commuting distance, and available to work in the office at least 2 days per week.
