OpenTeams is seeking a Senior Technical Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team of industry-leading recruiting professionals. This role will serve as a 4-month contract covering a team member’s maternity leave, with strong potential for a full-time hire based on performance and organizational needs.

We’re a distributed team headquartered in Austin, TX, driven by innovation and collaboration. If you’re a motivated, detail-oriented recruiter who thrives in fast-paced technical environments, we’d love to meet you.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience — both agency and in-house preferred.
  • 3+ years recruiting for technical roles (ideally within the open-source software or engineering ecosystem).
  • Proven ability to partner directly with C-level leadership as a strategic advisor.
  • Strong record of success in fast-paced, high-growth environments; calm under pressure and results-oriented.
  • A player-coach mindset - collaborative, supportive, and eager to help others succeed.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities with ease.
  • Skilled in sourcing and building pipelines through creative, multi-channel outreach strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and manage senior-level technical and leadership requisitions, driving full-cycle recruiting from intake to offer.
  • Partner with company leadership to strategically expand the senior and leadership talent base.
  • Build and strengthen OpenTeams’ employer brand within the open-source community; nurture relationships with key contributors and partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the recruiting team to share best practices, mentor junior recruiters, and ensure an engaging, high-performing culture.
  • Support hiring manager enablement through interview training and process improvements focused on quality and efficiency.
  • Create and analyze recruiting metrics and reports to identify opportunities for process improvements and scalability.
  • Collaborate on talent development programs to identify and grow high-potential candidates internally.

Why Join OpenTeams

At OpenTeams, we’re passionate about connecting exceptional talent to transformative work in open-source and AI. You’ll join a mission-driven, collaborative team where your voice matters, and your impact is tangible.

How we evaluate your candidacy

Our interviews will not only give us insight into your skill set but give you insight into our company.

1. Preliminary Interview — 30 minutes
You’ll meet with our recruiter for an introductory conversation about your background, career goals, and what you’re looking for in your next role. We’ll also share more about the opportunity and answer any initial questions. The goal is to build a high-level understanding of your experience, interests, and alignment with OpenTeams.

2. Video Interview with Technical Recruiter — 45 minutes
Next, you’ll meet with our current Technical Recruiter for a deeper discussion about your experience. This conversation will include a mix of behavioral, situational, and skill-based questions related to the role. This step helps us assess your recruiting approach, technical fluency, and working style.

3. Final Interview with VP of Human Resources — 45–60 minutes
You’ll then meet with our VP of HR to discuss team dynamics, culture, and how you work best within a collaborative, fast-moving organization. This interview focuses on values alignment, communication style, and long-term potential.

4. Final Discussion & Offer — 15 minutes
We strive to provide decisions within 48 hours of each interview. If moving forward, we’ll schedule a brief call to walk through the offer, discuss growth opportunities, and review our benefits and compensation structure.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.

How do you know if you have a disability?
