Product Analyst III

United States
Are you looking for a role in a company that's solving one of the greatest challenges of our lifetime? Ophelia helps people end their opioid use and restore their quality of life with respect for their time and dignity. Our mission is to make evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD) accessible to everyone... and we're looking to bring more people onto our team to help us achieve it.

Ophelia is a venture-backed, healthcare startup that helps individuals with OUD by providing FDA-approved medication and clinical care through a telehealth platform. Our approach is discreet, convenient, and affordable. We've been successfully operating in 16 states for almost six years and we're excited to continue our growth. We are a team of physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, researchers and White House advisors, backed by leading technology and healthcare investors working to re-imagine and re-build OUD treatment in America.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Analyst, you will turn data into decisions that prove telehealth to be the best way to treat opioid use disorder! You will be the go-to analytical partner for all three of our product squads, shaping how we measure success, designing and reading out experiments, and helping our teams understand what patients truly need. You will work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, product designers, clinicians, operators, marketers, billers, and more (this role is perfect if you want to fully immerse in technology-enabled healthcare services). You are right for this role if your statistics tools are razor-sharp and you enjoy  immersing yourself in experiment construction and analyses. Together, you will frame the right questions, test ideas quickly, and learn in an iterative way. Ultimately, you will make sure our product decisions are grounded in rigorous evidence, centered on patients, and connected to Ophelia's goals.

To date, we have built a portfolio of bespoke patient and clinical applications, bespoke billing and clinical data services, and commercial integrations, all of which have been core to achieving our goals. Looking forward, our technology roadmap is rich with innovative opportunities across paid-digital, B2B, and peer-led growth, new clinical services, applications of AI for clinicians and Care Coordinators, and a whole lot more. Every one of these bets needs strong measurement and smart experiments, and that is where you come in. Together, we will build awesome products while we embark towards profitability, our next milestone.

Our Technology team today is small but mighty and works in close collaboration across software engineering, product design, product management, and data. We use an agile approach rooted in the principles of the Agile Manifesto and are growing a strong experiment culture across our squads. Our product suite includes a custom-built EMR platform for our clinical organization and a patient portal, alongside numerous interaction modes (including text messaging, video conferencing, and third-party software). Our analytics stack includes BigQuery, Lightdash, FullStory, and LaunchDarkly, and we work in SQL, Python, and R.

In this fully remote role, you will report to Becca Getto, our Manager of Product Management, and support all three of our product squads, working across Technology broadly. You will also partner closely with our Data team through our Data Council, including our Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers. Together, we'll help hard-to-reach people treat their opioid dependence. You may not have experience in this treatment area, but ideally, you'll have knowledge of the healthcare space, including understanding health outcomes and benchmarks, systems, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA).

Responsibilities

  • Lead experimentation across our product squads, partnering with product managers, engineering, and product design to shape hypotheses, size and design tests, monitor them in flight, and deliver clear readouts. Help grow a culture where every team loves to test and learn.
  • Design and maintain our product metrics, including success metrics, guardrails, and leading indicators for each squad. Validate metric health, build trusted dashboards in Lightdash, and make sure teams can track what matters.
  • Deliver deep-dive analyses on patient and clinician behavior, including funnels, engagement, retention, and outcomes. When a randomized test isn't possible, use quasi-experimental methods to get to the best available answer.
  • Study and share outcomes and learnings with squad teams, our leadership team, and in large format meetings. Turn complex analyses into clear stories and recommendations that drive action.
  • Ensure a patient-centered focus by pairing quantitative analysis with qualitative signals such as FullStory sessions, user research, and feedback, so the numbers always connect back to real people.
  • Partner with the Data Council and our Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers to improve instrumentation, data quality, shared definitions, and analytics tooling.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging methods, and best practices in product analytics and experimentation. Network frequently beyond Ophelia and share learnings with the team.

Skills & Competencies

  • 4+ years experience in product analytics for consumer-oriented digital products, with a track record of driving stellar business outcomes through experimentation and insight. Demonstrate strong business acumen to connect analyses to strategy, keep track of key metrics and KPIs, and help teams prioritize the work that matters most.
  • Excellent statistics with deep, hands-on command of experimentation methods, including sample size and power calculations (MDE), variance reduction (e.g., CUPED), sequential and Bayesian approaches, and correcting for common pitfalls such as sample ratio mismatch, novelty effects, and multiple testing. Comfortable choosing the right parametric or non-parametric test, working with ratio metrics, and applying causal inference methods such as diff-in-diff, propensity score matching, regression discontinuity, and synthetic controls.
  • Experiment culture builder who loves helping teams form strong hypotheses, design tight tests, and ship early iterations to learn quickly. You make experimentation easier and more trusted for everyone around you.
  • Strong technical fluency in SQL and Python or R, with experience in cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery. Experience with BI tools (we use Lightdash), session and behavior analytics (we use FullStory), and feature flagging (we use LaunchDarkly) is a plus. Experience in tools like Mixpanel or Amplitude is also relevant.
  • Customer- and patient-oriented business mindset, with the ability to translate data into a clear understanding of what our patients and clinicians need, and what it means for the business.
  • Stellar communications and data storytelling, comfortable presenting analyses to groups of all sizes, from squad teams to leadership to large format meetings. You create strong points of view, backed with data, and tailor the message to your audience.
  • Impact orientation with focus on delivering outcomes over outputs, choosing to work in a thoughtful, iterative way. You capture learnings, share them broadly, and apply them to future decisions.
  • Passionate about our mission to make evidence-based addiction treatment universally accessible. Any experience in healthcare or telehealth is a nice plus!

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
