Why this opportunity?
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to help accelerate Optera’s growth by developing, managing, executing, and measuring impactful marketing programs that build brand awareness and sales pipeline growth. The role and responsibilities
- Create and manage Optera’s demand and lead generation marketing programs from start to finish, including strategizing, budgeting, forecasting, setup, reporting, and optimization. Be accountable for setting and achieving new customer conversion goals that drive business growth.
- Set and track key performance metrics for the Marketing function and regularly report on progress and recommendations to senior leadership. Use this data to proactively adjust and optimize strategies.
- Collaborate with Content Marketing to implement a comprehensive content distribution and placement strategy, contributing to and promoting marketing materials including whitepapers, social media posts, paid media creative, case studies, and sales collateral. Support in designing visual assets needed for demand generation.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop tools and collateral to support the sales team in shortening the sales cycle and improving the effectiveness of pitches. Ensure marketing and sales are working in lock-step to generate pipeline and accelerate pipeline to close.
- Optimize CRM and marketing automation software (HubSpot) by managing workflows and automation, keeping data clean, ensuring seamless integration between marketing and sales data, and developing reports or lists as needed.
- Proactively research and analyze market and customer trends, sharing with the wider Optera team to inform our strategic direction.
- Collaborate regularly with leadership and team members across Marketing, Sales, Services, Operations, and Product.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices and share new ideas for how to tell Optera’s brand story and reach its target audience.
- Oversee and manage the budget for paid marketing and other key initiatives, ensuring cost-effective growth and maximizing return on investment.
- Partner with VP of Marketing, as well as other team members, on special projects as needed
- As a founding member of the growing marketing team, help shape the future direction of the marketing function and team at Optera
Your qualities
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) to both internal and external audiences, including high-level leadership teams
- Organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to independently manage a wide range of varied projects at once
- Self-directed and motivated to build and manage new programs from scratch
- Effective at strategic prioritization based on overall company goals and direction
- Curious, with a love of learning and developing new skills
- Committed to upholding strong values and principles in the workplace, and maintaining a supportive, collaborative, and fun work environment
- Interest in sustainability and being part of the climate change solution
Your qualifications
- Multiple years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably for a SaaS product, including multiple years leading successful growth marketing strategy and programs end-to-end
- Expertise in reporting on the impact of marketing efforts and analyzing quantitative evidence to inform decisions
- Prior experience managing to a marketing budget
Nice to have
- Experience in a small, growing marketing team or high-growth startup
- Knowledge of marketing and CRM software, especially Wordpress, Hubspot, Google Analytics, Excel/Google Sheets, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Figma, and paid media tools like LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Google Ads
- Prior experience in environmental or adjacent industries is a plus

Location: Remote (US and Canada) with optional office in Boulder, Colorado
Position: Full-time
Base Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 plus bonus and option of equity
