We are looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer focused to help us build APIs  that power our product lineup. The role and responsibilities

  • Identify and break down implementations that span multiple sprints
  • Establish conventions for robust development practices: testing, deployment, and system security
  • Proactively support other team members and help them to become successful
  • Assist in story refinement; documentation of requirements, development of user stories, estimates and work plans
  • Deliver software solutions that meet user story acceptance criteria 
  • Facilitate technical conflict resolution with active listening and critical thinking
  • Triage and fix complex system issues
  • Our team and company are growing! Help hire, support, and mentor our future engineers

Your experience/qualifications

  • Experience working on software projects collaborating with product stakeholders to create intuitive solutions that meet and exceed customers' needs
  • Professional Experienced in building RESTful applications in Python with at least one of the following frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Pyramid
  • Experience working with Relational databases; data modeling, migrations, and optimizations
  • Dedicated to producing quality, testable code with accommodation for CI/CD
  • Good understanding and experience with writing and maintaining cloud-enabled applications and infrastructure automation via terraform or similar
  • Exceptional understanding of industry-accepted security best practices
  • Experience with data processing such as ETL and familiarity with Pandas

Nice to have

  • Experience in the Energy or Sustainability industry
  • Prior experience at a SaaS startup

Location: remote (US and Canada) with optional office in Boulder, Colorado

Position: Full-time

Base Salary: $125,000 - $160,000 plus bonus and option for equity
