Opti, a part of Aliaxis Next, is a leader in IoT cloud-based stormwater management, is seeking a full-time Customer Success Engineer to support a fast-growing company whose products help communities adapt to changing societal and environmental circumstances. The Customer Success Engineer Intern helps customers adopt and use our software platform, and provides remote support to our delivery partners - civil and environmental engineering firms and contractors - with on-site setup and maintenance. Internship Overview:
The Customer Success Intern will support our team in assisting customers, troubleshooting software and hardware integrations, and improving customer experience. This role is ideal for students or early-career professionals interested in water resources, environmental technology, and IoT applications. Interns will gain hands-on experience in customer interactions, technical troubleshooting, and software support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in educating customers on OptiRTC’s web portal, system configurations, and documentation.
- Support troubleshooting efforts for hardware and software-related customer inquiries.
- Help manage and track customer support requests.
- Conduct research on warranty information and assist in the return process for hardware components (e.g., sensors, valves, pumps, batteries).
- Organize and maintain customer site metadata and documentation, including cataloging hardware dependencies for data management and ensuring internal resources are structured for easy access and reference.
- Create and maintain training resources and guides related to O&M and field services to support internal teams and customers.
- Assist in onboarding and commissioning new sites by working alongside field teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain technical concepts.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Some experience or coursework in IoT, environmental monitoring, or data analysis is a plus.
- Basic familiarity with web technologies (HTML, APIs) or programming (Python, JavaScript, R) is helpful but not required.
- Interest in water resources, stormwater management, and environmental sustainability.

MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program
Opti will participate in the MassCEC Clean Energy Internship Program for this position. Program eligibility requires students to attend, or have recently graduated within the past year from, a Massachusetts college or university, or they must be a Massachusetts resident, with proof of residency, who attended an out-of-state college or university. Students pursuing a master’s degree are eligible for this program, though Ph.D. candidates are not.
