Title: Surgical Assistant
Practice: Desert Valley Oral Surgery
Hours: Mon - Thurs 7:30am – 4pm, Fri 6:30am – 3pm
Locations:
- Gilbert Office: 2915 E Baseline Rd #106, Gilbert, AZ 85234
- Queen Creek Office: 21321 E Ocotillo Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142
This position will be most often in the Gilbert office, with travel to the Queen Creek location as needed.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oral Surgery Assistant who meets the following criteria:

Oral Surgery Experience Required
Experience must be in an oral surgery setting -
Quality Over Quantity
While years of experience are considered, we place a stronger emphasis on the quality and relevance of your experience in oral surgery.
The Surgical Assistant is responsible for ensuring the compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients while practicing and providing safety in the work environment. The ideal candidate will assist oral surgeons during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care and service
- Communicate with all patients (both in-person and by phone) in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain positive, pleasant, and professional relationships between patients, staff members, and surgeons
- Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures and prepare instruments, materials, and equipment needed for various surgical procedures
- Support daily, weekly, & monthly efforts to provide a clean and professional environment for all patients, including, but not limited to, ensuring that operatories are clean, supplies are adequate, equipment is maintained, and compliance with all company policies is maintained
- Monitor patient's vital signs during surgical procedures and provide support as needed
- Assist with postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up instructions
- Document patient encounters and surgical procedures accurately
- Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, efficient workflow, and exceptional patient care
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings
- Adhere to best practices, established protocols, and highest patient safety standards
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous clinical experience. Experience as an oral surgery assistant required.
- X-ray certification required.

Work Environment/Conditions:
- Fast-paced dental office environment
- Overtime is sometimes required as needed to perform job functions
- Some travel as needed for training and to perform job functions
- Safety procedures required, including protection to minimize the risks from X-rays
- Potential long hours standing
