ABOUT THIS ROLE

BerlinRosen is seeking an Account Supervisor to join our team working on public affairs. You will lead daily client relations, plan and execute day-to-day project deliverables, support and lead junior staff, and conceptualize integrated strategies, pitches and media placements. This role not only leads the day-to-day work, but sees around the corners to anticipate clients’ needs and quickly assess the strongest team approach to meet them. Working closely with client leads and internal staff, this position will manage up and down, delegating to peers and junior staff and developing and advancing strategy with senior leaders. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about issues that cities face, both in New York and across the country—including land use and urban planning, social issues, housing, sustainability, economic development and health care.

Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis. The Cities team is in-office 3 days per week.

  • Manage a team of junior staff on each account you lead, strategically influencing deliverables’ quality and staff development by delegating, modeling smart practices and providing feedback
  • Conceptualize and drive new story angles and other media opportunities for clients: such as landing feature stories even when there is no news to announce, or drafting a persuasive and compelling pitch on behalf of a client for a high-profile interview, award or conference
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on communications and public affairs strategy, track policy, cultural, and political developments as it relates to client work to inform strategy
  • Work closely with senior team leaders on capacity planning to ensure that the team is running efficiently
  • Place numerous stories through persistence and creativity, identifying new targets and trying new approaches until the story lands
  • Contribute to business development and growth efforts
