
Director of Projects, Marick
The Director of Projects is responsible for leading and overseeing the successful execution of all
projects across the organization. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope,
and on budget while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. The Director
of Projects will drive operational excellence, team performance, and financial success within
the projects department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers, Coordinators, and Estimators through the full project lifecycle—from planning and design to execution and closeout.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
- Manage and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact for key accounts and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Take ownership of the overall financial performance of the projects department,including revenue, profitability, cost control, and forecasting.
- Partner with company General Managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure proper coordination of project manpower, timelines, and priorities.
- Establish and enforce project management standards, processes, and best practices to improve consistency and performance.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful outcomes.
- Review project performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support business development efforts by assisting in proposals, estimates, and client presentations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8–12+ years of progressive project management experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing multiple large-scale projects and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and the ability to speak to project impacts on departmental P&L reports.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Industry-specific certifications as applicable.

Work Environment
This role is a full time in office role based out of our Omaha, NE office. This role may require
occasional travel to project sites and client locations.
Marick Mechanical determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $145,000 - $165,000. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
