Senior Manager, Demand Generation & Business Development

Canada (Remote)

Location: Canada (Remote)

About the Opportunity

As the Senior Manager, Demand Generation & Business Development, you’ll lead AI-powered, multi-channel demand generation initiatives that drive qualified leads and accelerate client engagement across the US and Canada. This cross-functional role combines strategic thinking with tactical execution across event marketing, intelligent business development systems, and partner marketing campaigns.

You’ll be the hands-on expert driving marketing campaigns, AI-powered lead generation, and partnership activation. You’ll work closely with our sales, partnerships, and brand/content teams to create compelling prospect experiences and maintain strong client relationships.

This role is ideal for a results-driven marketing professional who thrives on leveraging AI, agents, and automation to scale marketing efforts in a fast-paced, technology-forward environment.

Responsibilities

Event Marketing Leadership

  • Design and execute event marketing strategies for conferences, trade shows, and industry gatherings.
  • Implement AI-powered pre-event booking strategies to maximize engagement and connect with qualified prospects.
  • Plan and host executive dinners and industry roundtables that showcase Orium’s thought leadership and expertise.

Automated Business Development

  • Own and optimize AI-driven business development systems targeting engaged, in-market prospects.
  • Use platforms like Apollo.io to enable intelligent prospecting and automated outreach.
  • Create and manage multi-touch campaigns through automation tools like Zapier and HubSpot workflows.
  • Establish SLAs with sales for lead handoff and follow-up, supported by automated alerts and task creation.

Partner Marketing Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal partner managers and external technology partners to plan and execute co-marketing initiatives.
  • Recommend Market Development Fund (MDF) spend allocation across partner programs.
  • Develop joint marketing plans that leverage partner networks for mutual value.
  • Maintain documentation of partner marketing playbooks and best practices.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 6+ years of B2B marketing experience with proven results in demand generation and business development.
  • Deep experience with AI, agents, and automation tools for marketing and/or business development.
  • Hands-on experience with Apollo.io, Zapier, HubSpot Marketing Hub, and Salesforce CRM.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex event marketing programs with measurable lead generation outcomes.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret AI-enhanced analytics and data-driven insights.
  • Familiarity with partner marketing programs and MDF planning.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Background in technology, consulting, or professional services preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce compelling marketing content.

Is this Role a Fit for You?

You’ll find fulfillment in the role if you:

  • Enjoy blending strategic thinking with hands-on execution using automation and AI tools.
  • Are curious and enthusiastic about experimenting with emerging technologies and integrating them into workflows.
  • Thrive in cross-functional collaboration with sales, partnerships, and content teams.
  • Understand the nuances of B2B buyer behaviour and how to deliver compelling, AI-enhanced experiences to enterprise audiences.
  • Are adaptable and eager to leverage AI-powered tools to enhance execution, collaboration, and decision-making, without losing the human touch.
  • Look for opportunities to integrate automation into your work to improve efficiency, creativity, and results.

Benefits and Perks

  • Enjoy a flexible schedule of full-time hours. As a remote-first organization, we care about the work you do, but it’s up to you to choose where and how you do it.
  • Explore ongoing opportunities for professional development: training, conferences, certifications, and in-house peer mentorship.
  • Experiment with new techniques, wear multiple hats and learn about new disciplines.
  • Pursue independent projects, explore new ideas, and challenge yourself in your field with dedicated “Awesome time” (self-directed professional development) annually and quarterly training budgets.
  • On top of standard medical and dental coverage, we offer benefits like a parental leave top-up plan, an EAP, mental health coverage, virtual healthcare and a minimum vacation policy.
  • Additional perks are available, including in-house mindfulness sessions, an employee stock option plan, remote group get-togethers, and more!

Performance and Growth Expectations

We emphasize accountability for outcomes, but autonomy in activities. Your work will be measured across a number of data points (peer, leader & project team feedback) and will also be measured on the basis of client and user satisfaction. Your growth path is in your hands— you’ll have ongoing meetings with your leader to help determine your path, but your progress will be based on what you hope to achieve and how you choose to access the resources available to you.
