Director, People Operations
Oshi Health is revolutionizing GI care with a digital clinic model that provides easy, convenient access to an integrated and multidisciplinary care team that takes a holistic approach to diagnosing, managing and treating digestive health conditions. Oshi Health has been recognized by Modern Healthcare and Builtin as the recipient of Best Place to Work awards. This recognition highlights our dedication to creating a workplace environment that prioritizes our team, fosters inclusivity, and is committed to our mission.
We take time to get to know each patient, develop a personalized, whole-person care plan that includes identification of symptom triggers and prescription of evidence-based interventions, including medications, dietary changes, and mental health support. Our care is delivered virtually through our app, via secure messaging and telehealth visits. When in-person diagnostics or procedures are needed, we take a concierge approach and coordinate access, care and follow up with local providers. For more information, visit us at: www.oshihealth.com
Oshi Health will never contact job candidates via text message or any other messaging platform including WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram. All official correspondence will occur through email. We will never ask you to share bank account information, cash a check from us, or purchase software or equipment as part of your interview or hiring process. If you have concerns, please reach out to careers@oshihealth.com, and we’ll confirm whether you’re engaging with one of our Oshi teammates!
As the Director of People Operations, you will be the primary People leader supporting Oshi’s operations and medical teams, helping to build and scale the systems, culture, and processes that enable our clinical and operational staff to thrive. You’ll partner closely with leaders across care delivery, field operations, and business operations to attract, retain, and develop top-tier talent while ensuring a seamless and mission-aligned employee experience.
This role requires someone who is equally strategic and execution-oriented—comfortable designing systems from scratch while rolling up their sleeves in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do:
- Lead People Operations for Clinical & Operational Teams: Serve as the main HR and people partner for our growing operations and medical organization—including clinicians, field teams, and support staff.
- Organizational Design: In partnership with Operations Leadership, regularly inspect and assess the existing organization design and modify as needed to enable rapid growth and scale.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: In partnership with the TA team, develop hiring strategies and processes to scale frontline and operational talent efficiently and with quality; support onboarding experiences tailored to these roles.
- Culture & Engagement: Help shape a mission-driven, inclusive culture for remote, distributed, and field-based teams. Deeply understand the care delivery model and our provider profiles to ensure policies, procedures, and working environment aligns with industry norms while still striving for an innovative approach to our model. Define and monitor KPIs to track organizational health, employee satisfaction, and HR program impact.
- Performance & Development: As a senior member of the people operation team, drive to implement and iterate on existing feedback mechanisms, review processes, development systems, and standardized performance management processes that are tailored to the needs of clinical and operations roles.
- Employee Relations & Support: Be a trusted resource for team members and managers, addressing employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure HR compliance across multiple states and clinical roles.
- Compensation & Benefits: Manage compensation benchmarking, career pathing and leveling, and provide insight and expertise on overall benefit programs to ensure market competitiveness for operational and clinical hires.
- Support D&I Initiatives: Build equitable systems that reflect and reinforce our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Who You Are
- 7+ years of experience in People Operations, including at least 4+ years in a leadership capacity at a startup or fast-growing company.
- Strong background supporting operational, frontline, or clinical teams in a healthcare, logistics, or field-based organization.
- Deep understanding of HR best practices, labor law compliance, and multi-state operations.
- Hands-on experience building people processes from scratch in early-stage or high-growth environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on partnership and collaboration.
- Experience supporting D&I programs and creating inclusive team environments.
- Familiarity with tools like TriNet, JustWorks, Greenhouse, or other HR tech platforms.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
