We are realising this through the development of the Osler Origin – a 'portable lab' capable of performing a wide range of testing, with lab-quality performance, in a portable, rapid, low-cost, and easy-to-use manner. The Osler Origin will offer a wide portfolio of diagnostic tests and serve all major healthcare settings, globally.

The Osler Origin is powered by a portfolio of novel techniques and approaches for sample addition, microfluidic sample preparation, and electrochemical biosensing, and Osler was formed out of the University of Oxford in 2017, following decades of research.

Having recently completed an $85m Series C fundraise, we are now entering a growth phase, where we are scaling our team as we take the Osler Origin product through regulatory activities, and towards market launch.

This is an exciting new role within the Programme Delivery Practice, leading cross functional product development teams in delivery of Osler’s medical device new product development programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborative product development projects in Osler’s new product development programme.
  • With focus on people and team dynamics, use pragmatic and effective project delivery methodologies and tools to drive the right work, by the right people, at the right time​.
  • Promote ways of working to foster collaboration, team learning, and agility in a complex, fast paced product development environment​.
  • Establish and maintain plans which help teams to understand and communicate where they are and what they need, supported by routines, to keep work moving and aligned to the programme​.
  • Build high performing, multidisciplinary team’s and lead them in exciting and challenging medical device product development.

 

Skills and Experience: 

Essential

  • A life sciences or engineering background with experience of medical device / IVD products.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary product development - preferably including science, software, electromechanical engineering, and product design functions
  • Ability to lead and influence to get the best out of teams and individuals.
  • Agile, self-directed, can-do approach to getting stuff done, comfortable in dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Able to navigate and explain complex situations, assimilate information quickly and keep work moving.  
  • Working knowledge of ISO13485 QMS frameworks for medical device development and manufacture​.

Desirable

  • Understanding of organisation design and team dynamics.
  • Worked in a start-up or small business where systems are still developing​.
  • Experience in Agile project management methodology, Lean or Six Sigma approaches​.
  • Concurrent delivery of multiple, complex, product development projects​.
