About the Team

The Title Curative will utilize their understanding of title underwriting standards and title insurer underwriting guidelines to determine condition of title and insurability while analyzing risk and liability. The right candidate for this position will enjoy resolving challenging issues and will also be determined to provide an excellent customer experience for our clients both internal and external.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Curing title issues
  • Responsible for the review of clearance documentation- i.e. divorce, probate, trusts, POAs and corporate entity documents
  • Self-manage daily workloads and ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner
  • Communicate and Collaborate with underwriters
  • Prepare deeds, affidavits, and correction documents as necessary
  • Order deeds from title partners and vendors where applicable
  • Review and approve vendor prepared deeds for accuracy
  • Prepare state specific deed transmittal forms
  • Prepare title commitments
  • Prepare commitment markups
  • Review and Approval of Surveys
  • Underwrite any applicable endorsements
  • Must follow any particular client requirements around timeline, coverage, documentation, etc
  • Responsible for communicating what needs to be paid, signed, and recorded at closing
  • Ensure clear and organized communication containing feedback, progress, and results of specific assigned files
  • Communicate daily with internal and external customers to provide feedback and updates on status of files

Skills Needed:

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of title curative experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate legal documents as they relate to title
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and Excel
  • Software experience in Resware is ideal
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and detail oriented, while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-tasking
  • Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance
  • Takes initiative in face of obstacles, identifies what needs to be done, and acts
  • Excellent verbal (including phone etiquette) and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a time sensitive environment
  • Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information.
  • Flexibility to shift focus throughout the day depending on market priorities

  • Adapt to changing priorities, processes, and workflows
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with real estate and public record documents 

Bonus Points if:

  • Commercial and/or multi-state experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a similar field
  • Law Certification

Location:

This is a remote role only available in Texas. 

Compensation:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The U.S. pay range for this position is $26.15 - $37.02 hourly. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on your qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range for the job location during the hiring process. We also offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, 12 paid holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, basic life insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
