About the Role
Otto Aviation is seeking a dynamic engineer to support the physical design and integration of the ECS and propulsion fluid systems in CATIA 3dx. You will join a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Otto Aviation is seeking first principles engineers that balance creativity with experience while working within an effective team atmosphere.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop fluid conveyance components for aerospace systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, to include the following:
- Cabin air
- Fuel
- Oxygen
- Fire suppressant
- Water
- Conduct trade studies for optimized form, fit, and function of aerospace fluid systems to include detailed system layouts and airframe integration in CATIA 3DExperience (3dx)
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define and validate interfaces with adjacent systems and structures
- Create both experimental and production digital product definition for components, assemblies, and installations, to include dimensions, materials, and processes necessary to fully define the configuration
Who You Are
Education
- B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
Experience
- 0-2 years of experience in ECS and Propulsion Fluid Systems design
Preferred Skills
- Experience with fabrication methods of high and low pressure metallic tubing and ducting, and composite ducting
- Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T
- Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process
- Experience in composite and metallic rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) for both experimental and production applications
- Experience utilizing CATIA V5, V6, or 3dx

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand on feet and walk around for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to sit at desk for prolonged periods of time and work on computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Where You'll Be
Otto Aviation is currently a hybrid/remote workplace culture, with plans to secure a permanent headquarters for our corporate office in the next 1-2 years.
- This role is hybrid, requiring three on-site days per week at our facility at Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, TX.
