Senior Director of Product, Health & AI

Remote - San Francisco, California

Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles.

Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office.

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Director of Product, Health & AI who is deeply skilled in AI-driven product development and systems thinking, and who can lead the development of personalized product experiences that help our members understand and improve their health. This role will drive the transformation of Oura from a system that reports health data to one that understands you, anticipates what matters, and guides you through decisions before problems escalate.

In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for a portfolio of complex products, helping to decompose large, multidimensional product spaces into clear building blocks and layers that enable scalable, differentiated user value. You will partner closely across software, science, engineering, and design to define an unrivaled product experience and bring it to life.

What you will do:

  • Develop a personal and proactive health companion that understands each member’s baseline, history, and health-both in the moment and over time-enabling deeper insights and guidance that is timely, grounded in real life, and delivered with the right depth and tone.
  • Drive the roadmap and architecture for key building blocks that enable a proactive health companion that is context-aware, deeply personal, and reliably accurate.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of a complex product portfolio from concept to launch-ensuring alignment with company strategy and business objectives.
  • Own delivery and execution for your product area, ensuring teams ship high-quality experiences on time while managing scope, tradeoffs, and dependencies.
  • Apply advanced AI-driven thinking to break down large, complex product visions into foundational building blocks, systems, and execution layers-delivering long-term value at the speed AI technologies enable.
  • Translate external market data, research, and competitive intelligence into actionable insights that inform strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Champion the needs of diverse users, ensuring product experiences reflect a deep understanding of their goals, behaviors, and challenges.
  • Define clear success criteria and KPIs -spanning member experience, engagement, trust, and business impact-and hold teams accountable to outcomes, not output.
  • Ensure alignment between product requirements, technical architecture, and business outcomes across the entire product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams as the accountable product leader driving alignment, resolving tradeoffs, and ensuring progress toward shared goals.

This is a hybrid US role with a preference to be based in San Francisco.

REQUIREMENTS

We would love to consider you for this role if you have:

  • Cultural Fit - leading with curiosity, humility, trust and urgency and driven by impact and inventing a better future.
  • Strong technical and product expertise in leveraging data, context, and AI/ML technologies including LLMs to create context-aware, deeply personal, and reliably accurate experiences-spanning both underlying intelligence and member-facing interactions.
  • An innovative approach to product development-transitioning from waterfall to an iterative, fast-feedback learning loop, using AI-driven workflows for idea generation, prototyping, testing, and validation.
  • Proven ability to craft a clear product thesis, define success metrics (product and business), own KPIs end-to-end, and communicate a cohesive product vision through compelling storytelling to internal and external audiences.
  • A track record of success operating in complex, cross-functional, global environments.
  • Strong systems thinking skills with the ability to break down complex products into clear architectures, modular building blocks, and scalable execution layers.
  • A passion for consumer technology, health innovation, and the opportunity to redefine how AI powers user understanding and behavior change.
  • 15+ years of experience in product management or related fields, ideally across consumer tech, health tech, wearables, or AI-driven platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience managing, leading, and developing product teams, including PMs owning platform, intelligence, and experience surfaces.
  • Preferred: BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physiology, Human-Centered Design, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
