We leverage the latest technology to enable high-touch service for high-growth brands and their daily operations. Outerspace provides dynamic services including, but not limited to, warehousing and fulfillment, customization and light manufacturing, and product photography.
Outerspace is looking for an experienced leader in Embroidery Operations to join our growing team!
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily embroidery operations, including scheduling, production flow, and staffing.
- Develop and enforce best practices across setup, production, and finishing.
- Coordinate material planning and procurement to ensure operational readiness.
- Implement robust quality control measures throughout the production process.
- Identify and resolve embroidery issues proactively and efficiently.
- Ensure final output meets both internal standards and client specifications.
- Work closely with Warehouse Operations, Client Operations, Commercial teams to ensure alignment on client expectations.
- Provide technical input during the sales or design process to ensure production feasibility.
- Support strategic initiatives for growth, including expansion into new decoration methods.
Technical Expertise
- Evaluate DST and other embroidery file types to ensure optimal stitching results.
- Understand embroidery machine functionality and fabric behavior to ensure high-quality output.
- Monitor and guide production quality regardless of logo complexity or placement.
- Maintain working knowledge of DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing processes and how to integrate them efficiently.
Team & Workflow Management
- Lead, mentor, and train embroidery staff; build a cross-functional and capable team.
- Manage performance standards, productivity, and shift coverage.
- Foster a team culture of professionalism, efficiency, and pride in workmanship.
Safety:
- Ensure work areas are safe to operate in
- Daily safety walks, callouts, and observations
- Coach on poor safety behaviors and encouraging good safety practices
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of work areas
- Comply with all OSHA and warehouse safety rules and guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in embroidery, customization, or apparel production
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role
- Strong understanding of embroidery operations and DST file usage
- Project management and digitization experience
- Demonstrated success managing teams and scaling production
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
