Location: Playa Vista, California (full time, on-site)

Role Overview
The Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations while helping to build the infrastructure required for a high-growth company. This role spans transactional accounting, monthly close, and continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where systems and processes are still evolving.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries; ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger and subledger accounts
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including variance analysis
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports; ensure proper coding and approvals
- Accounts Receivable: Manage billing, collections, cash application, and support revenue tracking (including DSO monitoring)
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure financial data integrity and operational alignment
- Support external audits and provide required documentation
- Utilize and help optimize financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks Advanced, BILL, Brex)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience (startup, high-growth, or corporate environment preferred)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms)
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivot tables, data analysis)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational discipline
- Clear communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Self-starter with a bias toward ownership and process improvement
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- CPA or progress toward certification
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or government contracting environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle
- Exposure to audit processes and/or internal controls frameworks
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000 – $95,000 (commensurate with experience)
