The Role (Temporary 6-Month Position) | Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 3:00pm

The Autonomous Vehicle Site Lead (Dispatcher) commands and tracks driverless trucks using Outrider’s Mission Control system at customer distribution centers. Reporting to the Director of Customer Operations, this role assigns trailer moves, monitors AV performance, and serves as the primary contact for operations issues. The AV Site Lead may coordinate with customer dispatchers or yard management systems to manage trailer move requests and updates.

This hands-on role requires sharp attention to detail, quick decision-making, and a safety-first mindset. It also offers the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge automation product that blends robotics with a SaaS model.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular communication with customer site operations teams, including daily check-ins and check-outs.
  • Lead daily safety briefings and site inspections before and after AV operations, adapting to changing conditions (e.g., weather).
  • Assign and manage trailer move requests using Outrider’s UI, coordinating with AV Safety Drivers and Field Support Engineers.
  • Use customer systems (WMS/YMS) to track, update, and verify trailer moves.
  • Log performance data and customer KPIs to report system effectiveness.
  • Operate within the Site Implementation Plan and comply with all customer-specific rules and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Outrider engineering to resolve issues and resume operations quickly; escalate as needed.
  • Travel to other customer sites as required and provide training on the Outrider System.
  • Communicate professionally with customers at all times.

Required qualifications

  • BS/BA or 3–4 years of relevant industry or technical experience
  • 1–2 years in transportation, intermodal, automation, or warehouse operations
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with proven leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Effective time management and sound decision-making under pressure
  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent references
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including multi-week customer site deployments

Ideal Qualifications

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles and complex electronic systems
  • Fieldwork and hands-on technical experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Interest in data analysis
  • Familiarity with integrated hardware, firmware, and software systems

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $30–$33
