The Role (Shift: Friday - Sunday from 6:00am - 6:00pm)

This is a temporary 8-week position, with the potential for extension based on business needs.

The AV Dispatcher manages the real-time operation of Outrider’s autonomous yard trucks and acts as the main point of contact for on-site operational issues. Reporting to the Head of Dispatch Operations, this role assigns trailer moves using our Mission Control platform and coordinates with customer dispatch teams or yard management systems.

This hands-on position demands sharp focus, sound judgment, and a safety-first mindset. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced settings, monitor system performance, and share feedback to improve tools and workflows. This is a key role in safely scaling our robotics-driven automation platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead AV operations, ensuring safety and productivity, and manage trailer move missions using Outrider or customer software while communicating with engineers and teams
  • Create and manage tickets for system issues or truck maintenance (Jira, Zendesk, Fleetio), and document operational details in reports
  • Train customers on the Outrider system and serve as a liaison for operational support
  • Escalate issues according to protocols and support operations through travel to customer sites when required

Required Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree preferred or 2-3 years of relevant industry or technical experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in transportation, intermodal, industrial automation, material handling automation, or warehouse operations
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate and assist with troubleshooting complex systems issues quickly and correctly while on customer sites
  • Self-driven behavior and demonstrated strong leadership and people skills
  • Very good time management skills and ability to quickly make informed decisions
  • Proficiency with MS Office or G-Suite.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, if applicable, or potentially commit to extended stays at customer sites for the deployment of Outrider autonomous vehicles

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, complex electronic systems and field work

  • Knowledge of and experience with integrated hardware/firmware/ software systems

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Wage: $35.00
  • $200 monthly meal stipend
  • $50 cell phone stipend
  • $2,000 bonus: Eligibility for the bonus is contingent upon successful completion of the assigned project and maintaining strong attendance throughout the assignment. Employees must not exceed one short-term call-out during the project period to remain eligible.
  • Actual compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening and background check
