Position Overview: 

Outset is looking for a technically minded and collaborative individual to help lead product management efforts for the Tablo® Hemodialysis System in the acute, post-acute, and home markets. The Product Manager is responsible for daily product management activities and the commercial planning of new Tablo offerings, including software updates, new features, and support services. This person will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners such as engineering, quality, field service and field sales teams to ensure a positive customer experience, drive future Tablo adoption, and establish Outset Medical as the partner of choice for dialysis. This role requires someone who excels in a dynamic work environment, can manage multiple priorities, embraces problem solving, and has a proactive nature to help drive the best customer and patient experience with Tablo. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the Tablo console, its features, and its capabilities both internally and externally
  • Stay current on competitor activity and competitive technology offerings in the marketplace
  • Monitor and adjust SKUs, pricing, and technical spec information in promotional materials to ensure accuracy and consistency as strategies change and new offerings are introduced
  • Partner with training, field sales, and customer support teams to ensure understanding of new features, reliability improvements, and troubleshooting for the Tablo console and consumables
  • Develop and execute go-to-market commercial plans to ensure successful product introductions and continuous adoption
  • Assist in the development of technical product collateral and sales materials to support field sales and customers
  • Represent marketing/commercial in cross-functional teams focused on product development, product requirements, reliability, and technical initiatives
  • Help define product lifecycle and end-of-life (EOL) strategies and plans to pave the way for new Tablo system and service introductions
  • Collaborate with quality and compliance functions to support product improvement and troubleshooting initiatives to ensure system reliability for our customers
  • Collect customer feedback and understand stakeholder needs through time in the field with sales teams, field service teams, and customers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, science, business, or related, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing sustaining capital devices and/or software ecosystems, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry
  • Located in the San Jose, CA, metro area or locations in the Pacific or Mountain time zones
  • Ability to travel at least 20% time (US and Mexico)

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Strong technical acumen with ability to communicate effectively with technical, clinical, regulatory and sales leaders internally and customers (from biomed, to nurses, to the patient) externally
  • Ability to translate complex technical details into clear, compelling product messaging
  • Self-starter who can remain positive and empathic while balancing a realistic and objective mindset
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with a sense of urgency and accountability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as demonstrated through the ability to maintain good working relationships and achieve results by working cross-functionally
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the evolving cybersecurity environment in healthcare is a plus
  • Experience and comfort with CRM, project management, and documentation platforms (Salesforce, Agile, etc.)

$148,000 - $201,000 USD

National Salary Range

National Salary Range (Remote)

$130,000 - $176,000 USD
