Tablo serves as a single enterprise solution that can be utilized across the continuum of care, allowing dialysis to be delivered anytime, anywhere and by anyone.  The integration of water purification and on-demand dialysate production enables Tablo to serve as a dialysis clinic on wheels, with 2-way wireless data transmission and a proprietary data analytics platform powering a new holistic approach to dialysis care.  

Position Overview:

 

Outset Medical is seeking a motivated Sr. Supply Chain Data Analyst who will transform data into insights that drive business value. The individual will drive strategy and execution of supply chain analytics, including development of leading and lagging performance indicators; data extraction, ad-hoc reporting, data automation through use of databases, data warehouses and data lakes, creating data visualizations, and comparing data to industry trends. The ideal candidate will have relevant supply chain experience in Medical device & consumables cost, capacity, inventory & risk management in a medical industry environment. He/she will possess strong visualization skills and experience building and managing dashboards using Power BI or Quick Sight. The role will provide support for production scheduling of internal operations. In addition, this individual will perform analysis of demand and forecast data for long and short-term planning, taking into consideration lead times and production capacity, cost reduction, risk & scenario planning providing recommendations for process and system improvements.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with executives and operational managers to translate the business needs into analytic and reporting strategies through the development, execution and resourcing of routine and project specific plans for analytics delivery.
  • Define, develop and track company wide, standardized KPI dashboards for our Operations, Supplier Relations, Finance, Freight and Engineering teams.
  • Act as a thought partner for business owners, providing strong analytical recommendations based on a combination of data and a broader business context.
  • Engage and manage all data sources and data warehouses for supply chain metrics. Create data views for internal and external customers, and own data quality.
  • Develop a range of analytics products from exploratory data analysis to predictive and prescriptive models, guided by business priorities.
  • Articulate analytical findings in clear and concise deliverables, including presentations, discussions, and visualizations to inform stakeholders and validate business strategy.
  • Accelerate decisions made with data to help direct analysis and client communications.
  • The role will work across the supply chain with different levels of the organization, gathering requirements, communicating project plan, and delivering trusted actionable results in a clear and concise manner.
  • The role will also manage existing tools, such as scorecards and dashboards, and look for ways to enhance or improve upon speed, process flow, functionality, and overall value.
  • Integration of BOM to ERP. Manage cBOM tracking cost reductions periodically.
  • Analyze and interpret supply chain & operational data and provide recommendations based on the results. Educates & trains user community on reports and visualization tools
  • Provide customized ad-hoc reports extracting data from internal systems and databases using Business Intelligence tools. Summarizes data in business and financial terms for management, executives, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement leading and lagging Supply Chain performance indicators.
  • Monitor performance, proactively identify improvement opportunities to improve supply & demand planning, material availability, cBOM analysis, supply risk planning, capacity planning, inventory accuracy, and operational cycle time.
  • Play a key role in our Data Governance initiative by developing data standards, data governance and data integrity monitoring. Provide insights and recommendations for material lifecycle management, risk planning, capacity planning, and safety stock levels
  • Drive solution development, internal customer communications, and monitoring of department efficiencies through cross-functional projects
  • Work on supply chain design and process improvement projects
  • Identify key issues across a broad range of areas and effectively communicate recommendations to Operations leadership
  • Translate business requirements into project and technical deliverables
  • Review, analyze data, tracks KPIs and reports to assist management and supply chain teams in coordination of efforts to achieve desired outcomes
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
  • Analyze and enhance supply chain processes by using various quantitative methods, collecting relevant data, including:
    • MPS, Forecast, Inventory, distribution data, procurement, and information on productivity and customer demand, in order improve Supply chain operations.
    • Responsible for working across multiple business units such as product marketing, finance, sales operation, planner, buyer and manufacturing engineers to evaluate needs and abilities in order to provide appropriate solutions and provide input to business requirements for the design of solutions
    • Provide subject matter expertise for key analytics and business intelligence development from a supply chain/manufacturing perspective.
    • Explore the manufacturing and supply chain data and discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends to assist in establishing Supply Chain strategies and policy to drive efficiency improvements to support the growth of the business.
  • Design Institute-wide views and custom reports and perform analysis for a wide range of requests using data in different formats and from various platforms.
  • Employ visual best practices to present analyses in the form of Quicksight worksheets and dashboards.
  • Develop highly effective ways of using data to influence decisions and suggest business actions. Train users to transform data into action-oriented information and to use that information correctly.
  • Use appropriate techniques and channels to summarize findings, publicize results, and engage with senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Develop Variable Models in Carrier and Transportation Freight Cost vs Revenue in an effort to balance our Margin on Freight.
  • Collaborate with teams to define and promote processes for data capture, data integrity and reporting functionality.
  • Establish & maintain metrics and dashboards against forecasting, Logistics, inventory, actuals and other supply chain metrics.
  • Engage IT support for future business enhancements within our applications (identify areas of improvement, functional spec, script testing, project management).

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain or other areas of relevance (e.g. Science, Engineering, Business); MS a plus
  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in a medical device/life sciences environment, or 3 years’ experience with MS
  • Strong analytical skillset and ability to translate business processes and data into insights and solutions
  • Strong visualization skills and experience building and managing data visualization dashboards
  • Project management skills to enable the prioritization of tasks for Supply Chain
  • Problem solving mindset, and an outstanding business data analytics acumen
  • Solutions-driven ability to evaluate situations, and quickly and efficiently identify options resulting in appropriate outcomes

 

Desired Qualifications

    • Demonstrated excellent ability working in a complex, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
    • Demonstrated ability to develop ad-hoc tools/processes as needed in a start-up environment
    • APICS certification is a plus
    • Understanding of basic MPS/MRP principles and logic
    • Excellent working knowledge of BOM’s/routings, manufacturing processes and operations, MRP/ERP setup and operations
    • Ability to work independently and also collaborate well with colleagues and internal/external customers
    • Stays up-to-date on new technologies and methods across data science and data visualization
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, both with technical and non- technical team members
    • Proven leadership of analytic initiatives in fast paced, multiple data project environment
    • Hands on knowledge of statistical methods and techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, regression, etc.)
    • Knowledge of web analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Quick Sight) and business intelligence tools
