Autonomy Data Specialist
Overland AI builds intelligent uncrewed ground systems for defense and national security. Our autonomy stack, OverDrive, is defining the state-of-the-art for perception, planning, and control of uncrewed vehicles, enabling them to traverse and operate in any terrain, regardless of roads, in any condition. OverDrive was purpose-built for the warfighter. Through our work with DARPA and the U.S. Army, we are developing the intelligent capabilities necessary to power modern ground operations, now and for decades to come.
In a little over a year, the company has been selected for or awarded eight-figures of OTAs and other contracts across multiple services and DoD customers. We have raised over $10M in funding, led by a top multi-billion dollar AUM defense tech investor.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to organize and analyze data we collect during field tests with the goal of improving our autonomy system
In this role, you will:
- Organize and catalog data from field tests to support autonomy development
- Analyze data from field testing to identify performance issues in robotic systems. Raise critical issues with the software team to ensure timely resolution and system improvement.
- Label data and manage data labeling tasks, ensuring accurate annotation according to project requirements.
- Support frequent field tests: Weekly in Washington (Ellensburg and Yakima Areas), Quarterly at sites elsewhere in the continental United States.
- Gain hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of robotic systems and their operations
Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation. Familiarity with data management and machine learning concepts is beneficial.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a Science/Engineering discipline or relevant experience
- Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and labeling tasks.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly document findings, communicate effectively with the robotics team, and manage labeling tasks efficiently.
- Field-test forward: You are passionate about building systems that work in the real world: despite rain, snow, and mud.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance.
- Ability to relocate to either Seattle, WA or Ellensburg, WA
