Software Engineer, Infrastructure Lead

Seattle, WA

About Overland AI

Overland AI builds intelligent uncrewed ground systems for defense and national security. Our autonomy stack, OverDrive, is defining the state-of-the-art for perception, planning, and control of uncrewed vehicles, enabling them to traverse and operate in any terrain, regardless of roads, in any condition. OverDrive was purpose-built for the warfighter. Through our work with DARPA and the U.S. Army, we are developing the intelligent capabilities necessary to power modern ground operations, now and for decades to come.

In a little over a year, the company has been selected for or awarded eight-figures of OTAs and other contracts across multiple services and DoD customers. We have raised over $10M in funding, led by Point72 Ventures, a top multi-billion dollar AUM defense tech investor.

We are looking for experienced software engineers to lead development of infrastructure systems and tools to support the growth and deployment of our autonomous fleet.

In this role, you will:

  • Build and maintain a wide range of software infrastructure solutions, from Dev Ops to field site networking to post-event data management and analysis, as well as manage a small team of self-driven engineers doing the same.
  • Be the single-threaded owner of Field Site, Dev Ops, and Robot Ops support infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams and team managers to improve development velocity, reliability, and performance of systems critical to development and demonstration of the next generation of off-road autonomy.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background: 4+ years industry experience in production systems. You have experience integrating off-the-shelf solutions for a diverse range of domains, such as DevOps, low-reliability networks, or big data management, and building solutions where off-the-shelf options don’t quite match needs.
  • Management background: You have experience managing and empowering a small team of motivated engineers, balancing and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Grit: You excel in a small-team atmosphere, taking ownership of problems and working with your colleagues to solve problems across disciplines.
  • Field-test forward: At Overland AI, infrastructure doesn't end in the server room. We routinely deploy to exciting field locations in order to push the boundaries of off-road autonomy.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
  • Ability to relocate to Seattle, WA.

Benefits

Overland AI believes in creating a work environment that you look forward to embracing every day.

  • The salary range for this position is $120K to $300K annually
  • Equity compensation
  • Best-in-class healthcare, dental, and vision plans
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 401k with company match
  • Parental leave
