ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a primary therapist eager to build and deliver care in a world-class innovative PHP/IOP program. As a therapist, you are the heart of our Partial Hospital Program (PHP) or Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) programs. Your daily role will include managing: group therapy, crisis management, and clinical event documentation / reporting for patients. You will work closely with the full team, including our Clinic Director and Medical Director, to ensure patients receive world-class services.
YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have clinical experience working with adults with higher-risk behavioral health conditions
- Training and direct care delivery experience in evidence-based practices (such as DBT, CBT, and ACT) and modes (group and individual therapy)
- Have experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Are eager to be part of a fast-paced dynamic team in a start-up environment; this includes having excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to be collaborative across disciplines

QUALIFICATIONS
- Lives in Boston, MA or is willing to relocate
- 1099 or W2 part-time position with availability for 6-20 hours per week
- Must be available evenings on weekdays Monday-Friday to meet our program schedules
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or health-related field.
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) actively licensed in Massachusetts
- A minimum of (2) years post-licensure clinical experience in higher levels of care (PHP/IOP, inpatient, psychiatric emergency rooms, residential preferred; will consider PCP IBH or FQHC settings)
- Experience and confidence facilitating groups
- Confidence working with Medicaid populations and people with complex social needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems (e.g., Slack, Zoom, Electronic Health Record, etc.)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide Evidence-Based Therapy: Deliver group therapy using evidence-based, measurement-informed practices within PHP and/or IOP settings
- Coordinate Patient Care: Maintain comprehensive treatment plans through case notes, correspondence, interdisciplinary team meetings, and collaboration with external providers such as primary care physicians or therapists
- Address Clinical Needs: Report escalating clinical events, provide crisis care when necessary, and collaborate with the Medical Director to offer recommendations
- Ensure Compliance and Documentation: Adhere to HIPAA standards and all relevant documentation and regulatory compliance requirements
- Engage in the Care Team: Contributes actively to a cohesive and efficient team environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to daily responsibilities, open communication, and shared decision-making to enhance outcomes
The base compensation range for this role is $45.00 - $60.00/hour. At Overstory Health, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.
