Human Factors Intern

Atlanta, Georgia

OXOS Medical, Inc. empowers every provider with the capability, clarity, and confidence to make accurate decisions at the point of care. We are building new kinds of radiographic imaging devices that push the boundaries of previous solutions by improving image quality, reducing radiation exposure, improving ease of use, and building solutions to deliver care outside of traditional scenarios. We enable anyone anywhere to access radiologic diagnostics at the point of need, expanding availability and changing how healthcare is delivered.

In-Person Position

OXOS is searching for a paid Human Factors Intern to join our high growth company for the Summer of 2025. The ideal candidate will be joining a dynamic team of passionate people who work daily to change the way radiographic diagnostics are delivered. With the FDA clearance of the highly anticipated MC2 Portable X-ray System, OXOS is working to increase the versatility and capabilities of MC2 through design improvements and accessories development. In order to discover opportunities for and execute the development of these product developments, the Human Factors team must contribute in:

  • Customer Feedback management and communications
  • User interviews, including Contextual Inquiry and competitive analysis
  • Human Factors analysis of designs, following heuristics or testing strategy
  • Usability testing, both Formative and Summative
  • Updates to the device’s Usability Engineering File, including Use and User Interface specifications
  • Updates to the Labeling, Training, and Instructions for Use

This internship is a great opportunity for anyone skilled in engineering concepts or product development and interested in growing their design and development skills in the medical device industry.

This is preferably a full-time position, but part-time will be considered.

This position must be present, in-office. Remote work cannot be accommodated for fulfilling the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

In this internship position, you will be responsible for assisting with the development, verification, and validation of design changes and improvements to MC2’s user interface, including but not limited to:

  • Research for ongoing user interface design, including competitive analysis, use environment research, or user interface best practices

  • Conducting usability testing, both formative and summative, to verify success and successful control of use-related hazardous situations
  • Writing and completing reports of all activities, in accordance with OXOS Quality Management System (QMS)

With multi-faceted engineering development in a small company, there may be situations where it will be necessary to step outside the above bounds of the position and contribute in other ways. It is the goal of OXOS management to keep these scenarios to a minimum, but may be expected in such a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
