We are seeking a commercially driven and technically fluent Enterprise Solutions Lead to lead how Ozow designs, sells and delivers payment solutions across our entire merchant base.
This is a growth role. It owns the way we approach both existing merchants and prospective merchants, turning Ozow’s product capability and payment rails into solutions that win new business, deepen and retain the merchants we already serve, and open new revenue streams. It brings together commercial, product and partnership thinking in one place.
Bank and partner relationships are central to this role. They are the building blocks from which our solutions are made, and this role owns developing them with that purpose in mind. The individual will work closely with the CEO, Growth and Commercial, Product and Engineering teams, and will build and lead a team over time.
Your role and responsibilities
Merchant Solutions Strategy
- Own how Ozow approaches its merchant base, shaping a more deliberate and differentiated way of engaging both existing and prospective merchants.
- Define the solution proposition across the base, from repeatable solutions that scale to bespoke solutions for larger and more complex merchants.
- Prioritise where solution effort is focused to create the greatest commercial value.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Translate merchant needs into clear commercial and technical solutions, from first engagement through to a signed, deliverable outcome.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to move solutions from design into delivery, and to package successful solutions for reuse.
- Bring together the commercial case, including the commercial and financial model, and the technical design so that what is sold is what can be delivered.
Bank Partnership Development
- Build and manage the bank, infrastructure and partner relationships that serve as the building blocks for Ozow’s solutions.
- Co-develop capability and commercial dealswith partners where doing so unlocks value for merchants and differentiates Ozow’s offering.
- Represent Ozow credibly with senior partner and bank stakeholders.
Revenue Growth & Retention
- Grow revenue across both new and existing merchants, drive the acquisition of enterprise and complex merchants through outreach, networks and business development.
- Deepen integration and relationships within the existing base to grow revenue per merchant and strengthen retention.
- Be accountable for defined revenue and retention outcomes for the function.
Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
- Partner closely with Sales, Product and Engineering to align the go-to-market approach for key merchants.
- Feed merchant and partner insight back into product direction, so the roadmap is shaped by real, paying demand.
- Establish and lead the solutions function, developing the team, ways of working and playbooks over time, and delivering against function OKRs.
You are an ideal candidate if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in a commercial, technical or related field (post-graduate qualification an advantage).
- 8+ years of experience in payments, fintech or enterprise technology, across solutions, commercial or partnerships roles.
- A proven track record of designing and selling solutions to large or complex merchants or clients.
- Experience building and managing bank, platform or partner relationships as a route to commercial outcomes.
- Both commercial and technical fluency, enough to structure and price a deal and to be credible with product and engineering teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally and building or leading a team.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly commercial, with an ownership mindset and high accountability.
- Knowledge of the South African payments landscape an advantage.
