About the Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally rigorous Senior Director, Commercial Strategy and Operations, to serve as a trusted advisor and execution partner to the Co Founder & President. This individual will operate as a force multiplier for the executive office, driving strategic initiatives, commercial execution, operating cadence, cross-functional alignment, and organizational effectiveness across the business.

The role is ideal for a candidate who combines top-tier strategic problem solving with exceptional operational execution. The successful candidate will bring experience supporting senior executives within banking, payments, fintech, broader financial services, or adjacent ecosystems, with the ability to navigate complex organizations and high-growth environments.

This is a highly visible role with significant exposure to executive leadership, requiring exceptional communication skills, executive presence, analytical horsepower, and the ability to manage ambiguity while driving measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and operational partner to the President on key commercial priorities and enterprise initiatives.
  • Translate executive priorities into actionable operating plans with clear accountability, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive preparation and follow-through for executive meetings, strategic reviews, board materials, and leadership operating rhythms.
  • Support enterprise decision-making through structured analysis, business insights, and cross-functional synthesis.
  • Act as an extension of the President in driving alignment across business units and functional leadership.

Commercial Operations & Execution

  • Lead and optimize commercial operating processes across revenue-generating functions.
  • Build frameworks and mechanisms to improve organizational effectiveness, execution velocity, and operating discipline.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Finance, Operations, Risk, and Strategy teams to drive critical initiatives.
  • Monitor key business metrics, identify operational gaps, and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Establish scalable processes and reporting structures to support growth and operational maturity.
  • Own and enhance executive and board-level reporting, including preparation of board materials, earnings packages, and shareholder letter inputs, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic narrative consistency.
  • Support quarterly and annual earnings cycles by coordinating inputs across teams, validating key metrics, and translating performance into clear executive messaging.

Executive Office Operations

  • Help manage executive office priorities, workflows, and special projects.
  • Maintain a high degree of responsiveness, discretion, professionalism, and judgment.
  • Support ad hoc strategic initiatives and organizational challenges as they arise.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment with evolving priorities.
  • Monitor key business metrics, identify operational gaps, and proactively develop and execute solutions to improve performance.
  • Build scalable reporting systems and process infrastructure to support business growth and increasing operational complexity.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience across strategy, operations, consulting, investment banking, financial services, fintech, or payments.
  • Strong foundation in top-tier management consulting and/or investment banking.
  • Experience directly supporting senior executives such as a CEO, President, CRO, or other enterprise leaders.
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following sectors:
    • Consumer banking
    • Payments
    • Fintech
    • Lending
    • Financial infrastructure
    • Investment Banking
    • Integrated B2B Solutions
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and operational transformation efforts.
  • Experience operating in high-growth or highly matrixed organizations.

Location & Working Model:

  • This role is based in New York City.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in-office 4–5 days per week.

The pay ranges for New York-based hires are commensurate with candidate experience. 

Pay ranges for candidates working in locations other than New York may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.

Compensation Range for New York Based Hires

$225,000 - $290,000 USD
